My cat is about 3 she is developing dry and scaly skin on her back and she's slowly losing her fur :'( i can't afford the vet cause I'm in the process of moving is there any suggestions that could help treat and get rid of her irritated skin? If so it would be greatly appreciated ! :)

Hello there,

It sounds like Ringworm.  If you can't afford a vet then explain this to your local vet and see if they can arrange a payment plan but you really ought to have considered the expense and likelihood of veterinary fees before taking an animal under your care.  Here is some information:

Skin irritation can have a number of causes - food or flea allergy, parasites like dust mites, ring worm, infection. It really needs a vet to look at it and even then, sometimes it can be very difficult to decide. My Wellington had bald patches where he was scratching and pulling fur out and it took a number of vet visits, skin cultures, microscopic examination, hypo-allergenic diet and topical treatments before it disappeared, and even then we were not sure what it was. Do not try to put lotions or disinfectants on his skin without a vet's advice - you could do more damage than good. Try and find a vet who will let you have a payment plan if you are having real financial problems , but I am afraid it is the only answer. We can only guess, and without a photo even that is impossible.
