our kitty is lost please help ! :(

our furr baby got out of our apartment on Saturday morning 12/10/2016. He is an indoor cat only but has gone outside a few times. a few times when i attempted to walk him with a leash and other times because hes always trying to get out. 

its been rainy where i live and has even snowed a few times not super deep but an inch or 2 i think. At night it has been freezing the ground if frozen our cars are frozen shut then weve had a few days where it began to warm up a little by 10 am. Ive made posters and posted them in our community laundry room , ive gone house to house with  a few houses around our complex but nobody answers the door or want the flyers :/ 

im thinking of going out and taping posters to some poles outside so i hope the flyers withstand the rain and all that. 


a little bit about or kitty his name is roscoe he is almost 2 years old, he is a grey short haired tuxedo , he doesnt seem to like other animals and cats very much, he is pretty funny sometimes wiht the things he does. he sometimes doesnt like to be petted but he will pet you. Every morning my husband and him lay on the floor together and bond before he goes to work. i cant have any doors closed between me and him or else he starts meowing and hitting the door. He loves to knead me and kiss me and if he isnt able to give me some lovin he gets very upset then we see he has tears . he is very much a mamas boy !! he loves to sleep and then has big burts of energy wher ehe tears up our apartment in the process. 

so far this is what ive tried : ive been going out everyday for at least 2 hours going our our complex and the ones around us ( there are 2 in the same lot) ive been making a 'clucking' typr noise that always gtes his attention at home since he never responds to his name. ive put his carrier outside our door with a shirt that i had worn all day and one that my husband wore all day along with a few of his toys, ive sprinkled a bit of his used litter around our complex and down a few houses down the street, and ive posted the flyers in our landry room and posted them on facebook, craigslist, and other social media. 

i dont know what else to do sorry for this long post but we need our baby back ! we have been depressed and have been crying everyday for him because we bonded with him so much. i feel terrible because i hadnt gotten to say hi to him that morning yet 
 

Have you called vets and shelters in the area to see if anyone has turned him in or reported him?  I am guessing kitty isn't microchipped? My neighbors cat got out and was gone for 3 months before someone contacted her via social media, so the sharing of the photos really helped there!  She was also offering a pretty decent reward. her cat was found about 10 miles from where she got out at, and we believe ducked into the sewer to escape some danger and then traveled the sewer pipe until she found someplace she could get out.  Good luck getting your little buddy back. 

Yes ive called a few and yes he is microchipped but its not active im going to activate later today. The vets and shelters here always check on social media to see if theyve been reported lost so thats an up side. Wow i was told if hes been an indoor he couldnt have traveled far ? I also just put up flyers around the neighborhood and grocery stores i hope it helps. Thank u me too

You could also try doing a search on google to see if your town has a webiste or social media page for you to post to about lost pets.  You can also check for pages in surrounding towns.  Have you asked any of the local vet's if you could post a flier at their office?

​Usually, a lost cat will wander about 3 to 5 houses (buildings) away.  

Most likely will be in hiding, since she is not used to the outdoors.

Did he come home? If he didn't check with shelters in your area (also outside your town, there was alot of cases of people taking cats to other towns to shelters because they didn't know where to go with them), also check with the vets, your neighbors and check some pages for adoption (maybe someone thought he was a stray cat). If he wasn't taken by anyone search for him. If it gives you ANY hope we had a cat in our house on a mountain and he escaped and came home by his own when he got hungry. Im praying you find him
