Hello everyone! My cat Maow is 3 years old and she got poison with antifreeze or pesticide outside the house. She came sat night very sick and vomit 7 times and probably more outside.Sunday same thing vomit again but this time she got to seizures one at 11 in the morning and one at 4 ( she was shaky all day) She was so weak that she could barely walk. Monday same thing vomit and felt to the floor she could bearly walk . I took her to the vet Monday morning and she was very dehydrated. Did some blood work. Her kidneys and liver where really high( bad shape)and protein very low. The vet gave her antibiotics and IV fluids. I went back 2 days for this. Then she started to get better Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday she was more alert and even was on playful mood and when back to the food that veterinarian prescribed and to her dry food .She was drinking water. Friday vomiting started again and she started going down again. Went back to the vet. Liver looks bad and we gave her more Iv and I ask them to teach me to do it mysel. Well now she is in the IV . We give her water with syringe since the beginning and we still doing so she is still vomitin 2 times or 3 times a day .I don't know what to do. Every visit to the vet is so expensive. They wanted to hospitalized her the 1st time and I didn't have the money. I don't know what to do next this is very hard on her, it's super sad for us and my kids and specially so close to the holidays. We almost put her down on Tuesday after seeing her in so much pain. She is not eating and she is vomiting more than she is drinking. Please help me. Any recommendation of a supplement that I can put in her water any tips please. Karen.

I know this is not what you want to hear but, unfortunately with poisoning you really should have brought her into the vet Saturday night before all the poison had left the stomach, so really within a few hours of ingesting it. Even 12 hours later the damage is already done, so for the most part it's supportive care and hope she will make it and her body can process the poison. If it was antifreeze there is not much hope of recovery if not treated right away, it does fatal damage to the kidneys, liver and brain. Pesticide it really depends on what kind and how much she ingested.  A hospital stay would probably have been the best bet, they can monitor her better there and give anti-nausea meds, other meds, and fluids when needed. The liver does heal, given time, but the kidneys don't so if the kidneys are failing she will have a much shorter life now if she survives this and need to be on medication (possibly including the IV fluids) and a special diet for the rest of her life.  My guess is the meds and fluids she was given earlier in the week helped flush the liver and kidneys some removing the toxin, but once she was back eating again she can't process the food properly anymore. There is always some parts of the food that can't be fully digested, the liver and kidneys filter out these things and create waste, if the liver and/or kidneys aren't working the digestive toxins build up.

I'm sorry but I don't know of any supplements to give that will help. As I said it's more a wait and see, keep her comfortable and hydrated, and see how much she recovers. Maybe also ask the vet if there is any other kind of more easily digestible food that you could try? However if her organs are shot, there might not be anything. If I am understanding this right this has been going on for almost 2 weeks? That is not a good sign.
