Two of my favorite things!!! Absolutely Pawsome! It's a book! Love the one of Spock! I would love a tee-shirt.

Pam, @Winchester...this is totally..."Absolutely Pawsome".

Stardate 2016.

The only thing that I cannot figure out is 'which is the cat playing Spock'??
(...you'd think that being on Site, for awhile, I'd know the different breeds, but I still don't.)

  1. Orange/Red Tabby= Captain Kirk
  2. Cornish Rex ??? (maybe) = Spock
  3. scraggly looking blue/grey and white= Bones, the Doctor
  4. Scottish Fold= Scotty   (brilliant)
  5. Russian Blue= Chekov  (another great choice)
  6. black cat = Sulu
  7. Burmese= Lt. Uhura   (some exotic cat, anyhow, love the earrings.)
Have you seen this online article: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/06/12/catvengers-assemble-catconla-interview-jenny-parks/

It talks further about the artist, and shows 'the Next Generation Star Trek cats', as well. (I've not watched that entire series, so I may have to binge watch, for a while.)

I'm more of a 'Voyager' fan, so hoping that she drew them, too.

Thanks for this "pawsome thread".

I don't know the various breeds either (shame on me). Spock is the one in the blue shirt directly opposite of Uhura; if the Cornish Rex is the one with the funky ears and the white face, yes, that's Spock. (And OK, this is how my mind works....right below Uhura, there's a door right up from the floor. See it? Ok? That's the door to the litter box!
Wonder if the ship does the scooping?!
)

I would dearly love to have this as a coffee mug. That would be just most awesome! A calendar would be simply outstanding!

Thanks for that link.....I am a big NextGen fan, more so than the original series. Interesting that I was able to figure out which cat was whom. Captain Picard is great!

Holy crap, could you see Quark as a cat???

And I love the Cetvengers, too! She also did Doctor Who, which became Dr. Mew. It's just purrfect for geek in me.

Yes, I'm still not too sure of the breed of cat that Spock is, but that cat definitely has Spock's haircut, and unique 'funky' ears.

Your mind is wild and very, very creative.

I do see the door, right below Uhura...the 'screened-mesh covered access panel'...which is NOW known to be the "door to the litter box".

I think there are access panels, all over the ship, and now when I watch the 'real star trek', I'll keep thinking those panels are for 'litter boxes', too.

Definitely, the ship has to do the 'scooping".

Orange Tabby Kirk, will ask the 'computer voice' if 'all scooping is complete'...there will naturally be some problem,...Scottish Fold Scotty will yell at the Captain, that 'he has no more power to give for scooping' and then Spock, or some other cat, will have to figure it out. Of course, if any 'new cats' are aboard, they will pass out, before the 'scooping episode' is finished.

Quark as a cat??
Well, he does have those huge ears. She did a great job on Worf, with those ridges, and Data being pale white.

Interesting that you were more of a NextGen fan. I liked the Original, Voyager, and later Enterprise. I somehow missed the NextGen, and Deep Space Nine series.

I watch all Star Trek series in order, in a constant rotation. I'm on season 2 of TNG again right now. I don't have TOS (original. Not really a Shatner fan, also not really an old TV fan :/). But I think I might have to bite the bullet and buy a boxed set. I've seen a few episodes on TV and it's not too bad, most of the time :lol3:.

I don't actually have a favorite series. Maybe Voyager, by a small margin. But they all have things I like and dislike. I HATE the Q episodes (TNG and Voyager); he's so annoying. I find the TNG Borg episodes to be somewhat tiresome although the Voyager Borg episodes are better. The "The Sisko, Emissary to the Prophets" storyline on DS9 is a little weird sometimes and the allegory can get a bit heavy handed (I just realized with my last watching how many episodes have Bible-themed names). I think Enterprise is very well written although I know a lot of people didn't like it when it was on.

So it's fair to say I'm a Trekkie :D. I can't wait until the new one is out, although I don't have home internet so I don't know if I'll be able to watch it right away. Hopefully they release the season DVDs quickly and don't make it so that only subscribers have access.

I think the Spock cat is an Oriental Shorthair. His fur doesn't look Rex-ish.

I was such an original Star Trek fan that I thought it was almost blasphemy when TNG came out. Didn't watch for quite a while. And then I was talking to a guy at work and he said, "Look, just forget about STO (Star Trek Original) and watch one episode of TNG on its own merits. Just watch one episode. And then tell me what you think." So I did. And the rest is history. I am not a huge Shatner fan at all, but I was a Nimoy fan. Spock rocked. And so did Picard. I loved Jean Luc Picard. There was something so calming about him, that in the face of almost anything, that man kept his cool. That's why when during Genesis, I had some trouble believing that he could devolve into something like a lemur, so fearful and anxious, because that is not Jean Luc. I still have my life-size Jean Luc Picard in the closet in the computer room; when I had him out in the room, Banshee would chew on his shoes

Yes, Spock is an Oriental. Like I said, I don't really know cat breeds all that well.

Man, I am praying for a coffee mug with that picture!

Thanks @Willowy and @Norachan for clearing up the 'which cat is playing Spock' dilemma. Oriental Shorthair sounds great.

Also great to know that 'Star Trek Discovery' will be coming out in May 2017. I never even heard about it. Hope it's good.

Talk about 2 Star-Trek-Super-Fans, here,...Total Trekkies for sure,...that being @Willowy and @Winchester.

I'd love to see you two, on a 'star trek trivia show'....blasting the competition away. (pun intended)

I'm kind of thinking that since @Winchester has a life-sized Jean Luc Picard in her closet,
and also those cool Next Gen Pez dispensers,...then we should make Winchester Captain of the New Ship, and Willowy would naturally be the 'Science Officer',...considering the amazing memory and knowledge of so many episodes. I'd think that coming across any new problems, in space, would be a snap for these two to figure out.

Of course, Norachan would have to be the 'communications officer'...knowing languages and stuff.

The rest of us, could be the regular crew,..doing whatever has to be done..."scooping litter boxes and all".

(I used to play with Star Trek original action figures in the 70's, and had some sort of 'captain's Bridge' with a 'transporter that spins',...but slowly I think each figure disappeared...meaning, I don't know what happened to the toys. Gosh, I don't know if I could even stop from opening that Next Gen Pez dispenser box....too tempting. Even though, I know they are more valuable when in the box.

No, no, no, I'd make a terrible Captain. I want to be the ship!

I'm going to go dig Picard out of my closet and put him up, just to see what he looks like. If he's still in good shape, I'm bringing him to work!

Can I join in also???  Can I be a "crew member" also???

I love Star Trek.. I have watched every series, from the beginning. I remember when the original series came out..

Jean-Luc was the consummate commander.. never a Kirk fan.. Loved Spock.. and McCoy and Scottie...

and then Jen-luc!!  and Data...

I still watch TNG occasionally, on BBC America...

Also Voyager with  Captain Janeway....and DS9... that was a bit 'off' for me.. I did enjoy Quark...and his bar.. and the shenanigans he got into..

I don't recall 'the ship' as being a main character. (Sure, the ship is important and all, but we still need a Captain.

And yes, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, did play many roles, and IS important, but that means @Winchester that you'd only be 'the voice', and 'recurring guest roles' etc.)

I guess, you can be, knowing all you know, but having that 'life sized Jean Luc Picard'...automatically made you Captain.

Is it wise to bring 'Jean Luc' to work with you? Isn't he a 'collector's item', too.

I would not want any one else's fingerprints on him.

(Wasn't there a show called "Andromeda" where the ship was super important to the story-line. I only saw a few episodes.

DH was a big Trekkie. He loved the original series- me? No. I found it way too cheesy although I do really like George Takei and loved Leonard Nimoy (may he RIP). I loved TNG. DH and I used to watch it when in his room when he still lived with his parents. I just LOVE Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes. Still have crushes on both of them.
I also really liked Q. I found him snarky and funny. I liked the entire crew on TNG though.

DD is like her dad. She likes both. She is jealous that I went to a Star Trek convention with him in Denver before she was born. The reality was that I got dragged there. I think we were the only 2 there that were NOT in costume.

Oh, for sure, @Artiemom

Anyone who knows the Vulcan greeting of "Live Long and Prosper"...must become a crew member also.

You might have to choose which crew member you want to be, though, since I'm no longer sure...who our Captain will be.

It looks like Winchester plans on going on an 'away-mission' and then becoming the 'voice of the ship'.

Wow, we may have lost the Captain, in the first episode.

(I'd like to be in Engineering, and just turn dials, press buttons, and walk around.)

Sinc I worked in the medical field my entire life; I thought Dr Crusher or a first assistant would be appropriate. What do you think. I could also go on some "away " missions.

Medical is always needed on a ship. Sounds good to me.

Interesting that you chose one of the 'nicer doctors', versus going out of character...and choosing one of the ones that like to yell. (Even the hologram doctor on Voyager would yell sometimes.)

You're too nice, @Artiemom. I can definitely see you in the role of Dr. Crusher.

Hmm...since @Kat0121...actually went to a 'star trek convention' ...but did not dress up, then choosing a role, might be difficult.

Having a crush on Jonathan Frakes,
would lead a person to believe that playing 'Deanna Troi with telepathic abilities' would fit, but that would be too easy.

I think we need a security expert, or someone to fly the ship.

That sounds fun. I'll have to brush up my Klingon.

Um, I have a Klingon dictionary.
You can borrow it, if you'd like!

Rick and I went to a Star Trek convention many years ago, but didn't dress up. I have a picture of all of the cast of TNG, with the autographs of the people who were at the convention: Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Wil Wheaton (long before the success of TBBT), and Gates McFadden. Remember my co-worker I was talking about in a previous post? The one who told me to give TNG a chance? Well, when we heard about the convention, I asked Jeff if he wanted to go along; he was so excited about it, I thought he was going to pee his pants. He and I were on third shift that night and we both called off work. It was a great convention, some were dressed up, but many were not. They also had an auction; we stayed for some of it.....that's where I got my dictionary.

I also have a very interesting book called Captains' Logs: The Complete Trek Voyages. It's old, though, and only deals with Kirk, Picard and Sisko.

Also having Red Hair, gets me more "into" the Dr Crusher role---although it is short, not long.. @cat nap  you are too kind...

A million years ago, the Museum of Science in Boston, had a Star Trek Exhibit. It mainly dealt with the original ST series and some of TNG; but it was a lot of fun.. I could have stayed in there forever!  I they could somehow have it return...
