The second anniversary of the passing of my Boney Girl is just a month away. I wanted to do something a little special in her memory. I gotta tell you, I feel pretty good about this.

The green background shading represents the color of her collar and favorite fleece blanket. Around my neck is her rabies vaccine tag. Sometimes I carry it in my pocket.

Very nice!  I think memorial tattoos are always my favorite.  My BFF has a good number of tattoos and most have a meaning.  Her parents have both passed away; so they are represented.  She had a mermaid done for her daughter and a young "mer-man" added for her son later.  She has an anchor on her left ring finger in place of a wedding band.  It's nice when things have meaning.

That is a beautiful tribute to a very beautiful girl. She knows how much you love her and she will always love you too. I bet she stopped by the shop while you were getting it done to critique the work and was quite pleased.

Wow!!! I have to admit I don't even like tattoos, although I don't rule out the possibility of getting a very small one some day, but this one is GORGEOUS!  That artist is very talented and recreated her likeness so well it's scary.  Funny how a little creature that can't even talk to you with words can get into your very soul and just stay there.  This is a beautiful memorial to your girl.

I just had to add my praise. That is one awesome cattoo! Wonder if anyone around here is that talented. Boney Girl would be pleased. <3

Awwww!  I love it.

Very nice! And for a first tattoo you went pretty big! You obviously did your research well, portrait tattoos can go very wrong very fast... IMO tats are like cats, you cannot stop at just one
Isn't that the truth!  I have 3 and as soon as I get one, I start thinking about the next one.  It's a good thing I'm poor or I'd probably be covered by now.

I know, right? I've done my 4th 2 weeks ago, and I already know what the next ones are going to be. Like you said, good thing I'm poor.

Wow, that's really beautiful.  And the likeness is astounding.

I am not a tattoo lover at all but yours is something special.

I've had so many pets, if I got tattoos of all my rainbow babies, there wouldn't be an inkless spot left on me.  I've had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, lambs (I bottle fed triplets after their mama died in childbirth; I was 2 and adorable), a pony, fish, and even a pet rooster named Peep Peep.  I once had a baby Mojave ground squirrel for a weekend after I rescued him from a cat.  I named him Fred and fed him with an eye dropper til the animal protection people got my voicemail and came to get him.  By then, I was feeling confident that he was still alive and wanting to keep him but apparently it's illegal to keep endangered critters.  Buttheads.

Very cool. How big is it? Mine is 6" tall x 4" wide.

I am now able to also recommend memorial/tribute tattoos. The way I would describe it in as few as words as possible is: quietly satisfying. The funny thing for me is that until 6 months ago, I didn't know that cattoo was a thing.
