Hi

I adopted a kitten when she was 6 weeks old from a shelter in a vet. She was already used to eating ration there, so  I just kept giving her ration, having no clue that wet food is the best diet as everyone says in the internet. After seeing so many YouTube videos with kittens and cats eating good looking foods such as raw meat and wet food, I got jealous and I'm considering starting to feed mine with wet food, or maybe even raw meat if I can afford a cheap way. She is almost 3 month old now, she looks healthy, but her poop looks a bit dry, and her anus doesn't look very clean...if you know what I mean. Cats doesn't drink much water, I know that.

So, should I start giving her what kind of wet food? I'm new to all of this, it's my first cat. I know a lot people here are sugesting canned food, is it much more expensive than ration? Can you give me tips? I'd apreciate any help.

I have raw rump meat here, can I  give it without any more addition?

Thanks for reading, and have a great day.

That's her, Lilith

beautiful kitty!

I would feed wet food, mainly because of the moisture the cats normally don't get with dry food.

I feed 1 5.5 oz can, half in the morning, half in the evening of low grain food.

Thank you! Yes she is.

You mean those pate cans? If Yes, what flavor is recommended? I Heard fish is not good for them.

I feed Trader Joe's canned cat food, it's 80 cents a can- it's very low in grains. I dont feed much fish- once a week for a variety. They have turkey and chicken too.

Depends on your budget too!

Some people prefer to go all grain free which is best- Wellness is a good brand too though pricier

As regards which flavor to offer to you cat; the answer is...WHATEVER SHE WILL EAT!

Of course the proviso is that you give her food that is healthy and fits within your budget.  Be confident there are several recipes from various and assorted manufacturers that won't break the bank (hopefully).  Keep in mind that your available options will be limited by your prerogatives, like...

Zero grain?

No fish content?

No carregeenan?

Opinions and preferences vary.  Choose for yourself.

Most pouch tpe foods are complete diets sto they are fine to feed every day, except for maybe the seafood based ones. However many pouches tend to have very little actual food so they're not worth the money. Feed them once in awhile as a treat or meal if you like but stick with cans to get the most for your money, particularily pate style foods.

So, what you mean is that those pouches are good, but countain little food.

I've done  a search online about prices, and compared the price/weight ratio, and I've found out that both sachets and cans are about the same price ratio in my country (Brazil). Also tin cans are much harder to find here.
