We're all decking the halls and such...

Tell me about your Christmas tree, if you have one.  Do you color-coordinate, do you have a theme, or do you just pile everything that you ever saw and loved into one glorious eclectic hodge-podge (some of those are the prettiest).

I'll get us started.

Why, yes, I have a tree.  It is currently dressed in midnight blue balls, teal balls, silver balls, mn blue snowflakes, teal snowflakes, silver icicles and aquamarine icicles.  My old apartment was almost totally done in blue, but I'm getting a new love seat and chair at some point soon, and I'm not sure what colors those will be.

Before I moved here, I had 4 sets of decorations that I rotated out.  I had my Treat Tree, with apples and chocolate strawberries, and candy canes and candy garland (all fake, of course!).  Then I had my Woodland Tree, with forest critters and acorn garland, and the Wish Tree with butterflies, dragonflies and gold ginko leaves (transformation, dreams, and prosperity), and my Yule, or Winter Solstice Tree, with golden suns, silver stars, and the prettiest opalescent blue moons (took me months to find the paint for those).  I'm hoping to start collecting stuff to have that again very soon.  I really enjoy decorating.

We have 3 trees in the house.  All are artificial.  Our main tree is in the living room.  I have colored mini lights on it and a hodge podge of ornaments.  I collect some Hallmark ornaments.  Most have some kind of meaning.  One thing I'm working on is having an ornament to represent every member of our family.  So I have a Cesna plane for my Step-dad, a Fire Station for my Cousin's husband, a Cardinal for my Grandpa, a Gone with the Wind ornament for my Grandma, etc.  I love that tree!

The other 2 trees belong to my kids.  DD has a tree with white and pink/purple lights.  It's mostly decorated in pink, silver and purple.  DS's tree has colored lights and is done in greens, reds and gold.  Except he couldn't be bothered to decorate the whole thing so it's not very decorated.

Real tree! And has no colour scheme
other then white lights. All the ornaments are from all over the place. Old Finnish decorations, as well as some Hungarian, Estonian etc ones that my parents had collected during their travels, some newer ones based on ballet and animals, couple of white angels, homemade ones that I made in my childhood during my Xmas stays at the hospitals, some modern blue, gold and red balls, some antique balls and so forth.

But it works!

3 artificial trees.....we had to go with artificial many years when our son was small and he had asthma.

We put one up this year, the traditional living room. I'd dearly love to put up the Tacky White Tree, but we have no room in the kitchen.

We used to have one large live Christmas tree we cut down at a nearby Christmas tree farm.  It was covered with every kind of ornament available and, in my opinion, was both beautiful and interesting.  These days, I no longer put one up because I lost all of those precious ornaments in a move and I've not yet recovered from their loss.  Plus I have no idea how Paul and Chula would react.

I have an artificial tree, 4footer with white lights.

My ornaments are plastic from the dollar store (they do not look cheap at all!). i chose all red and gold ornaments with red beads. This year I have a red bow for a topper (as my star topper broke and didn't feel like spending money on a new one).

I have a 2 ft wire tree. I got it last year online. The tree was not decorated so I did. The blue ornaments was just a show. I decorated with all unbreakable ornaments last year. Did the same this year. Cally being out of kitten stage is NOT bothering it this year. So after a week I went ahead and added lights, a star, + garland. She seems to love getting in her cat tree next to the Christmas tree and enjoy the lights. She purrs when she looks at it and not once bothered it. Yay for Cally. Tiger never gave the tree last year or this year a second thought.

This is the tree.

This is my decorating.

I do like to coordinate. I have only had artificial trees. Especially since having kitties. (and being single, it would be a big chore to go out & get a real one. I'd have to recruit my dad to come help w/ his truck. Plus 13 stairs to haul it up! )  I had a regular green tree & had red, gold, white, & other ornaments on it.  About 3 years now (i think), I got new furniture, so wanted to coordinate it better. Plus, had the old one & same ornaments for years. Was ready to switch it up!  I found a white tree at the dollar store for $15.00!

I have clear w/ painted white designs on them, white, teal, green, gold,  & chocolate, (my couch is gray, & the new chair has greens & teals in it.)  Last year I saw a box of ornaments at Hobby lobby I really wanted, so that had the green & teal ones in it w/ gold accents on them. I love them because they were different shaped, like some of the old ones, teardrop, etc..

Here's the old tree  (Uhhh! Yuck, that old wall color! But I had cream furniture, & fall color accents, so it was my "pop" of color. It was bolder than I expected it to turn out, so I lived w/ it for a cpl yrs).

Here is the newer one                                                                                                                                       You can see it a little better here, in day, not lit.

And Sammy has been a good girl, paying it no mind! YAY!!

So, of course, I'm now stuck in tree mode and was thinking of the very prettiest tree I ever had.  It was one of the molded plastic trees that look real until you actually touch them.  I had blue lights, silver balls, and spun glass ornaments made by a friend of my sons' father.  It was such a peaceful tree to look at!   Those ornaments were all lost in the house fire several years back.

thanks! :)

the walls are actually very light blue/grey. it's more blue because of my fish tank, lol
I just had a sudden and wonderful vision of your fish with tiny rollers, busily repainting the wall around their tank!

My apologies; when I posted the Christmas pictures yesterday, I completely forgot about this thread. I'm sorry.

Here's the tree.....Despite the cats, we have never given up on having a Christmas tree. Unfortunately, there is no Tacky White Tree this year. We simply don't have a place to put it (I'm trying to figure out how we can get it in the kitchen. The rocking chair is in that spot now; we used to put the rocking chair in the kitchen next to the Christmas tree, but now Jackie's food dishes are there. I just don't know how to move things around anymore.)

One artificial tree for me. Decorated with unbreakable ornaments on the top two thirds. Bottom third has a few ornaments Ruby is allowed to play with, though they are more often than not scattered around the floor.
