Yes. It takes awhile after meeting someone before get to talking.

How ever there is one crowd I love + they are the sweetest. I am talking about

3 cats + one confused dog who thinks he is a cat.

My family and friends tell me I'm an extrovert.  I guess since I'm a volunteer Speaker for a major non-profit that kind of makes me an extrovert.

I am also an introvert.  I too can seem like an extrovert when I need to, like public speaking and business social functions.  Putting on the act when I feel I need to really drains me though.

Hmmm.  Is there something about answering the Question of the Day that appeals to introverts?   Because I'm one, too, although sometimes this extrovert surfaces and surprises the heck out of me.

I consider myself an extroverted introvert.  I prefer being on my own, and hate groups but, can fake it if necessary.  I do much better around small groups of people who I have some kind of relationship with.

Most people who know me probably would say I'm outgoing but honestly I don't feel that way inside.

I read somewhere that it's not how you behave---you could be a shy extrovert or an outgoing introvert, due to life experience or conditioning---but how it makes you feel to be around people. If being around people makes you feel energized, you're an extrovert. If being around people makes you feel exhausted, you're an introvert.

I'm definitely an introvert. I'm pretty sure there's a study that says that cat people tend to be introverts so that probably skews the results here!

Interesting.  I have also read that if you get your energy from others you are an extrovert.  If you get your energy from within, you are an introvert.

I'm an introvert.

I am an introvert. I really need my personal time. When I was a teenager I loved my quiet time in my room with the door shut. I was a good kid; I stayed out of trouble. I wasn't depressed. I was happy that way. I like to socialize with certain people. But I like it on my terms. Sometimes getting myself to a social function is harder than being there. I prefer small groups of people I already know!

VERY introverted... until I get to know you.  THEN you wonder why you ever thought I was an introvert.

Well, I'm weird (like you all didn't already know that...
). I'm an introvert and, at parties or other gatherings, I'm the one in the corner, praying that nobody will come over and talk to me because I'm not interesting at all and I have nothing to say. And I'm just biding my time until I can get out of there. I am very shy.

But once I get to know you? Well, there's a pretty good chance that we'll talk the night away, about anything and everything. And that we'd be the women over in the corner of the restaurant that nobody likes because we'd be laughing and carrying on and having a great time.

I prefer small groups of people (actually I really like one-on-one) instead of big parties and gatherings.

There used to be a woman who worked here and she liked to play her radio. Loud. Really loud. And it was country music to boot!
I do a lot of math calculations in my job (trying to figure out how many trees belong where for landscaping, screening and there are formulas that I need to use. And they can be complicated, depending on if the adjoining properties are residential, agricultural, industrial, and so on. It's a pain in the butt sometimes. And there she was with the radio sky-high. So I bit the bullet, went down to her cube, and asked her nicely to please turn the volume down. She was nice about it.

And one day we got to talking. And oh my dear lord, the shrieks of laughter that would come out of our cubes. Me with most people, well, I'm quiet, most of the time. Her with most people, well, she's pretty quiet, too. The two of us together? We have a blast. And yep, we're that couple of women in the restaurant that nobody wants to be around. We meet regularly for coffee at our local Dunkin Donut and it's gotten to the point where when we come in, the guys say, "Oh, no, you guys again! Could you keep it quiet this time?" But they're smiling when they say it, so maybe they don't mean it....at least, I hope they don't.

We also go out for dinner from time to time and one night we were at this place for dinner and a couple came in and sat down close to us. When the waitress came over to get their drink order, the guy said, "Whatever those two are drinking, that's what we want!"

We can see each other in the grocery store and we're standing there gabbing and laughing while our husbands are trying to figure out what the heck is going on. One night when she called me about something, she started laughing; her husband walked in the kitchen and said, "Hmmm, you must be talking to Pam!" I was back in the bedroom and Rick came back and said, "So, are you talking to Barb?"

Because I'm quiet. I'm really quiet. I'm an introvert. I swear.

Classic introvert. So glad I'm among my peers here. I detest being in large groups of people. Put me in a room with 10 strange humans and I'm ready to bolt. Put me in a room with 100 stray cats and I'm

I'm actually OK in large anonymous crowds. They don't bother me at all. I can stand in the middle of Times Square and feel perfectly comfortable. Probably comes from being raised near Tokyo, lol. I'm very uncomfortable in crowds of people who know me, like parties, though. Yep, I'm the one in the spare bedroom talking to the cat!
