Hello

I am new (well registered yesterday). Just wanted to tell you about my little black boy, Guinness. I have had him since 2nd December 2003 and he is coming up for 6 months old. Such a lovely little boy and always a joy to see when I get home from work.

I have decided to keep in indoors for as long as possible. However, he has gone out into the garden by himself but he is not too keen to stay out on his own for long. I think he's a little timid of the outside and also I guess it's too cold for him. I don't mind either way - as long as he is happy.

He is a spoilt little boy with soooo many toys. Lots of my friends bought him presents at Christmas and I ended up with 15 toy balls for him to play with! I spend my evenings fishing toy mice out from under the sofas for him to play with!

Anyway, here's a picture - soon to be updated as this was taken the 2nd day I got him;

Hi Gilly and Guinness
and welcome to the site.
I remember when my Rosie was that age as if it were only yesterday!. I thought she had too many toys but it looks like Guinness is in the lead!!.

Rosie is also a housecat, and she seems happy. Enjoy your stay.

I can't see the picture for some reason?

Kittens are precious at that age! And Guiness is a cutie!

May I ask why you want him to go outside? Inside kitties live happy, healthy lives without having to worry about predators, bugs, cars and running away! Its your final decision, but my boys don't miss it.

Welcome to the site! Guinness is a real cutie! I have a soft spot for black lover-boy kitties - I have one myself!

Imagestation has been problematic as of late, so I saved Guinness' picture and will attach it for all to see.
www.Photobucket.com is a good service that allows (in the rules even!) remote linking, and is also free.

Welcome to the site Gilly and Guinness
I have to agree with Sandy. Try keeping your boy inside if possible. They are much healthier that way. I have 7 cats and they all stay inside. They have lots of toys and I play with them as much as I can. I too spend much time looking under the sofa, stereo, bed looking for lost toys.

It's not that I want him to go outside - I don't want to restrict him. If he wants to eventually then I will let him. At present I am not forcing him either way as I can understand the dangers out there for him. Plus as he is a black kitten/cat if he ever does go outside I will make sure that I keep him indoors at night.

I think it's a case of time will tell but atm he is not really that bothered - I just don't want him to miss out

Hope that made sense!
