Sorry for the delay today.  We had a busy weekend and apparently it wore me out because it took me about 5 tries to wake up this morning.
I could use a Dunkin run.

What did you do this weekend?

We did a lot of running around.  DH took my car for new tires and an oil change. I took DD to practice for her Christmas play, shopped with DS, sent DS home with DH because he wasn't feeling good, shopped with DD after her practice, helped DH hang the rest of the lights on the house (we had to borrow an extension ladder from the neighbor, who had to bring it home from his job first so the house was half done for the last week), went to DD's play and church, did some late night shopping at Walmart for medicine for DS and stocking stuffers.  And the regular parenting/home stuff.

But we got a lot done.  And for the first time we have lights up on our house for Christmas.
I have ALWAYS dreamed of how I would like my own house done with lights at Christmas. DH has never been on board before.

I managed to find a water-proof winter coat, in a color I like (!!!!), on sale and quickly.  There were no other ones in the store like it.  That was pretty amazing.  i tested it out yesterday when I was holding the ladder for DH.  No more getting soaked when I'm grocery shopping in the rain.  No more snow soaking through my jacket when the kids are playing.  Now I just need to find the motivation to get errands done today.  Or tomorrow.
I'd like to start wrapping things too.  And baking!

Saturday: Nutcracker all day!  Then went off afterward to do some remaining Xmas shopping.

Sunday: Relaxed a bit by watching soccer and then did some errands. During the evening I tried this egg/oil combo and put in my hair for an hour. Then rinse it off with cold water and put coconut oil in my hair, which was suppose to be kept on overnight. Overall, the process is suppose to stimulate hair growth (allegedly an inch overnight, proven by various beauty vloggers) I was obviously skeptical, but was curious and figured it might be nice for the hair anyway even if it didn't work. Well, I stopped doing phase two after some time, even with the saran wrap and tightly wrapped towel the coconut oil kept leaking onto my face and neck
so I ended up washing it off the same night instead of sleeping in it. Oi, the mess! Can't imagine dealing with it throughout the night! Made sure to follow directions to a T as well.

Sad to say, no extra inch in my hair...granted I did the shortcut version. Didn't find my hair improved in texture or softness either. Ah well!

I hardly ever try popular youtube beauty stuff and trends, but as I also work in the cosmetic industry which includes having clients ask about hair (Often about all the DIY stuff they read or watch about too)  I wanted a taste of it for basic experience sake.

At least I don't smell like a sandwich at the moment or anything!

Saturday I saw the Tony award winning play, "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime."  It was wonderful and since I work in Special Educ. I really enjoyed it. Sat. night into Sunday it snowed all day so I relaxed, did laundry and made some long overdue phone calls to friends.

Saturday was my birthday, but I worked 9-5 at my day job and 6-11 at my part-time job. Sunday worked 9am to 8 pm at my full-time.   Luckily, for my birthday sake, there weren't as many rude,  hurtful shoppers as usual on the weekends.   My family (most) does not acknowledge my birthday so it was sad.

So sorry your family does not acknowledge your birthday.  Birthdays were always a big celebration when I was growing up so I carried on the tradition with my kids.

Here's a sincere birthday wish for you -

A very Happy Birthday from my furkids and me, @raysmyheart

Well, on Saturday, we ran errands and I cleaned the house a bit while Rick decorated a few more trees outside with Christmas lights.

We woke up to snow showers and squalls, and I baked cookies while Rick did some work back here in the computer room. He has some boxes full of union stuff that he needs to go through and organize. It's not a fun job, but he needs to get it done.

Lots of fun.....not! (But we enjoyed being in the house and being toasty and warm while it was so cold and blustery outside. And fresh cookies always make even the most snowy day feel better!)

Saturday I vegged out on the couch watching reruns on TV to rest my sprained knee. Mingo was a great comfort, sleeping next to me all the time. Lily took advantage of my incapacity to move to climb on the tables and knock off and smash a 100-year-old heirloom bowl.

Sunday it snowed almost all day, so I struggled to get some laundry done. That's about all I accomplished. Getting up and down the stairs on a knee that won't bear weight is difficult.

I worked 10 to 5 both days, but I did some yoga after work on Saturday and had a long lunch break on Sunday which meant I could get out for a walk. I always work weekends and I have to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year.

On Saturday I shopped most of the day.

Sunday was church to begin with. Then we went to town and shopped some more. :lol3: I picked up some things in Ollie's which included a new desk calendar for myself. Yesterday morning I realized I left it in the cart when I unloaded my things into the back of the CRV. I called the store and got a miracle. The same woman who checked me out on Sunday answered the phone. She said nobody brought it back into the store, but since she remembered me, bring my receipt and they would give me another one. I call that good customer service.

Sat I worked 7am-8:30pm- weekends are slow-so it's not that bad.

Sun woke up ready to go but it was very cold so I read all day. Didn't make it to the grocery store but I bought take out the day before on my lunchbreak-bought 2 meals and munched on that and other stuff.

Did some online shopping and wait till it gets here to wrap up and head to the family's house next Sat.

I read 3 books but they were small 250ish page books-and on the kindle so it's even smaller than if it was printed...winter is here folks. Let the reading marathons begin.

We went out to lunch on Saturday, but most of the day I relaxed, as I'm just getting over bronchitis. Sunday I worked at the shelter. A lot of that was cleaning hedgehog cages (we've got ten spending the winter), doling out meds, and walking a hyperactive Shepherd mix for 90 minutes. It didn't tire him out a bit.
