I can't always support TCS

As much as I would like to support TCS by clicking on the ads, some of the ads don't have any animation and invariably don't lead to a web page.

These are DentalPlans.com, Justflowers.com and that cheap airline ticket ad. The only ones that do work are The Cat Pages, Kitty Bytes, (but aren't these TCS related so what income is generated?), and PetsMart.com.

Mags-

With Anne being so busy, the ads up there with the exception of Nok Out, and the TCS/Meowhoo are just demos (for now) As soon as she gets her schedule under control the ads going up there will be of the type that we hope you will click on, and more importantly purchase the products for they will be helping to support TCS. Originally we only had one advertiser here, so this is brand new for us, and I just ask for your patience until it is all up and running,

I must have missed the post about the ads being demos! I thought the ads were real and thought that I should point out the technical difficulties even though they are obvious. I'm so sorry and embarrassed. Cue in the earth opening up and swallowing me whole.

Actually, the ads are supposed to work. Hissy is right in that we wish to bring you only targeted (i.e. cat related) ads here, however for now I inserted some affiliation ads here. I am not at home right now (typing from my mom's computer), but I will look into it as soon as I can.

Thank you for your support Mags! Actually with most ad programs today, clicking the ads doesn't bring the webmaster any revenue. Except for Google who still pay per click - affliation ads pay per action (usually purchase).

However, clicking on the advertisers ads and actually buying something, shows the merchants that the potential for sales is here and encourages them to extend their campaign with us, so ultimately it does bring the support that TCS needs to keep bringing you this board -
If I hadn't been so brain-dead last night, I would have explained that part better.
But not just the forum ads, and the Market Place but also the banners and text ads throughout the homepage and the website applies to what I am talking about.

Yeah, I am. I started a post the other day because I've been so sick I don't always see everything. It got closed... not sure why it wasn't just added to this one but I'm getting kind of used to that insignificant feeling. I'm still having no luck with the ads. But that's ok.. I don't need to spend more money I don't have anyway!

Do you not see the ads at all? Or do you see them but not get to the pages they're supposed to lead to? if the second, what kind of error message do you get?

And your post was not insignificant. Daniela should have merged the threads I guess, but please don't read so much into it. Have you ever tried your hand at moderating the IMO forum? I think once you have a round at moderating there you'll see that it's only too easy to interpret what mods do the wrong way, when all they mean is to help.

Umm I thought this was the feedback forum, not the IMO forum. The last time I posted something in here it took someone 2-3 months to even respond. And don't forget... I've even had positive posts deleted. I'm sorry I put you on the defensive. But maybe I have a reason to feel that way. I know being a mod isn't easy. Yes, I've been there and don't care to be again. So I appreciate the things the mods do. I just happen to think sometimes they get carried away.

Don't worry about my original concern. I was just trying to help by giving feedback but I don't feel the need to check back again. Thanks anyway.

Well, I closed the thread and didn't merge them because I was very short on time when I was here. And it was quicker for me to that. I replied to your thread and said that I was closing it and referred you to this one.

Sorry for the confusion.

Just as a side note, you mentioned that you've posted here in Feedback and didn't get a reply for 2 or 3 months? Please link me to that post, because all posts are answered here either by myself or Anne or another mod. And I know for sure there has never been a thread that went unnoticed for 2 months! Maybe I don't get here for a day or two, but not months!
