I would see about trapping him and getting him some vet care.  It always seems to be a never ending revolving door for those of us that care for ferals and strays.

Hi ,found the black cat looking in through the cat flap today ,managed to get it to feed from my hand .There are white things on his head about the size of a grain of rice ,i am guessing they are ticks .Phone the RSPCA and they gave me a ref number to give to the vet if i manage to catch him.

Thank you for caring and trying to help.  How awesome you will have a reference number for a vet.  Vibes that you catch him soon.  Keep us posted.

Hi ,haven't seen the cat today ,yesterday i set out a dish with a whole tin of wet food and he kept coming back to it and he finished it al off ,it is a brand that is not good enough for my 4 cats .
Misha brought another live mouse in today ,it was hiding under the heater in the hallway ,the kittens were staking it out .He made a run for it and they lost him in the pantry .Put a trap in and caught him and let him go outside.

Seen the stray cat the last few days ,he is waiting for me in the morning ,tried to catch him today ,he run off and has not come back yet to finish his food .
Phoned up Cats Protection this morning ,they lend out cat traps ,they just want a £50 deposit .It might be the only way to catch him .
I am keeping my cats in as i think he has cat flu .

It would seem that the more quickly you trap him, the better off for everyone.  If he is sick, no telling what cats might catch what he has.  Yours are not the only cats outside, so you would be doing a lot of cats good by trapping him and getting him the help he needs.  How fortunate there are organizations there to support you.

Thank you for helping him!

Hi managed to catch the cat this morning ,he was sitting on one of the chairs near the front door and he was easy to catch .Took him to the vet ,he has been fixed and chipped ,but they didn'update his details so there is no way to tell who owns him .
The vet gave him a shot of antibiotics ,he had fight wound on his head ,she said the RSPCA won't take him because he is healthy .
i brought him home and was going to keep him in the shed ,i made up a bed put a litter tray and food/water in there but he escaped when i was taking him out of the carrier .
I have seen him going into the shed ,i am hoping he will start using it to sleep in .

Thank you for taking care of him.  Someone cared enough for him at one time to neuter and chip him.  How sad that the owners cannot be found.

I hope he will return to the shed for food/water and shelter.  So glad you were able to get him the help he needed.  You are a very kind soul!

Hi ,over here when a cat is chipped and you are the first keeper you can tell the chipping people for free ,any keepers after that have to pay £16 .

I contacted a cat shelter ,the owner said she would have him if i can get him to her ,she is willing to lend me a trap to catch him .

Aw, sorry t hear about this. Keep trying.  Sooner or later,he will get hungry enough.  Remember to feed only in the trap.  if he'snot motivated, he won't go in.

Hope your holiday goes well...

Hi ,managed to get close enough earlier to grab him by the neck and underneath. Put him in the shed ,but he manage to barge his way out at the bottom ,there are 2 turn locks on the shed door ,one near the top one in the middle but not one at the bottom .

Wednesday i am going to pick the trap ,if i haven't managed to catch him .

Hi Good news ,managed to catch the stray cat today,i picked up the trap on the 30th Dec and this morning was the first time i have seen him since the 30th Dec .

Took him down to the rehoming center in south Shropshire ,at least he will have a nice warm place to sleep ,regular food and care ,and if Misha stops coming home with bite wounds it will be a happy ending all round .

Thanks ,if no one wants to have him he has a home for life ,the owner won't put a cat down unless there is no option .

She told me the story of one of the cats ,she came from Bosnia and had been run over by a car ,one of her back legs was removed and the other one didn't heal properly ,the vet wanted to put her down ,but the woman said no .The cat manages to get around ok .
