My 9 week old kitten is on Royal Canin weaning kibbles, which she gets 3 times a day. Usually whenever I go out, I tend to pick up various brands of wet food and she would get some wet food few times a week depending on what I find.

I've read some discussions here that cats should have wet food as their main diet. But I'm doing it the other way round - mostly because wet food gets bad quickly in a tropical country and it's a pain to scrub clean once it has dried on the plate. Even my vet recommended her to stay on a kibble diet. Any thoughts?

You have a refrigerator? If so, the tropical climate should not harm the food. In any case, many types of wet food are sold in really small portions that you may not have to refrigerate at all.

I mostly give wet food to my own cat. It will come off the steel bowl if I soak it in hot water for a few seconds. Maybe the material in your plates is what makes it hard to scrub off.

Wet food is cooked thoroughly so it won't spoil too quickly if your kitten does not eat it all right away. It should be good for a few hours.

Kittens at that age should be able to eat as much as they want, so it is normally advisable to keep kibble out for them at all times. And make sure the water bowls are full and cleaned regularly.

Best of luck!

Yes I do but my kitten likes to leave some food uneaten so I'm unable to clean up immediately and that's when food starts to spoil. I use the hot water method too but it's just too much of a hassle.
