My mom and I raise rescue kittens until they are about 6-8 weeks old and then we find them forever homes. We are busy with our 15th baby now who we got when he was less than a day old. Unfortunately while having him we didn't get any other rescue kittens in so he grew up by himself which in our opinion is not ideal because we feel they grow up so much better in a group. But anyways he is about 5 weeks now and he poos in the litterbox but he doesn't wee in it. He also doesn't wee in his bed or on the blankets, he only wees when we physically wee him with cottenwool but I know at this stage they should be weeing by themselves yet he poos by himself in the box. Has anyone else maybe experienced this or can anyone maybe offer some advice? He's very healthy and active. Although we will take him to the vet if we don't figure out this problem soon but if anyone can offer some advice or guidance on this situation it will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bex19, At 1 day old, no mom and no siblings, that's a steep hill you guys climbed! Not surprising he has some issues. He may be reluctant at this age to be more idependent because he missed out on so much. I know children with emotional problems can take much longer to potty train.

I would cut him some slack, don't fuss over it so it becomes a stressed issue. Let him like 8 weeks or something? My guess is you guys are doing such a great job, but this little fellow may just be struggling a bit to keep up with the schedule. I'm positive he will work this out soon enough, he just needs a little bit more babying right now.
