Hey Everyone,

My cat, an 8 month old, male named Scooby, is afraid of my heater. It has been getting super cold specifically at night so I have run the heater, EVERY TIME here gets scared. Starts meowing and hides either under the bed or in my window until its done. Then it takes him almost 30 minutes to feel comfortable again.

I live in an apartment complex and they check my CO Detector at least bi annually, and it flashes green when I have observed it. So I do not think its that.

Anyone know what I can do? its to cold for me to not have the heater on for him, it was -9 last night.

I have found that the cats LOVE the electric oil-filled radiator type heaters which are totally silent but give out radiant heat.  I like them because they are safe for cats and also quiet.  They are not terribly expensive and you might be very happy with one yourself.  The Pelonis model that I have several of is currently on sale at WalMart for $33.00.  I have one for each room, even though I have central propane heat too, but the radiators give a steady warmth and the cats love them.
