My 4/5 month old kitten got spayed yesterday and was licking at the wound a lot so i brought her to the vet today and she gave her a cone and also told me that it looked a little swollen, like it could be getting infected and told me to keep her confined so that she couldn't jump and climb and stuff of that sort. So right now i have her in a big dog kennel, which she's not too fond of. I was wondering if anyone else had gone through this? and how long she would have to stay confined, it makes me said to keep her locked away but i don't want her getting infected or ripping the incision.

Omg I know how you feel! I'm literally going through the same thing with my first cat, Amira. She got spayed on the 3rd, and has also been licking at it. It's very hard to keep up with her and keep her from moving around. This is her fifth day and luckily the swelling has gone down but I have to watch her carefully to make sure she resists messing with her incision.

I was told to keep her confined for 14 days.
