As I've said on here before, we have a very tiny 2 yr old kitty. We keep our home pretty cool during the winter (in the deep south) but worried about her a bit. Wondered if anyone has ever used any kind of clothing on their cats. Have to believe that it would be difficult to keep a kitty in anything :). Thanks for any input. Stay warm folks!

Hi happypet6, The greates Christmas present you could get her is a little play mate to keep her warm! Personally I wouldn't dress my cat, they mostly don't like it much because it impedes their grooming and scratching. If a buddy is not possible, create a couple of nice warm spots with polar fleece blankets that she can retreat to. When active in the house she won't be too cold I should think but she needs a warm place to sleep.

Thanks so much for quick reply. She actually has 11 buddies inside now and all really love her. Good thing because some of them are big enough to saddle and ride, lol. No, haven't ever clothed one and you are so right, they don't like that. Just sent hubby to get more fleece throws. Since we have 13 more outside ( not to worry, all but 3 month old olds are altered), we had put the blankets we have out for them. Fortunate to have storage house with shelves so we have a nice condo complete with fluffy rug on floor. Wonderful Wallyworld has the throws on for $2.50 and is only a couple of blocks from here. Thanks to the good Lord!! Ty again for reply

The blankets are my favorite option after the heated cat bed I got off Amazon.  (K&H brand)  Mooch lays in her bed with her head on the edge looking at me like "I'd get up but I'm too comfortable."

We keep an older comforter on the couch that we like to lay under ourselves and that is the 2nd favorite spot in the house.  (Mooch is actually on top of that right now.)  When the weather first gets cold or if it's really cold out; she will burrow underneath it.  Noodles loved her heated bed also but there was an unfortunate incident and I couldn't get the smell out.  She has a very plush baby blanket left over from my kids that she sleeps on folded up inside a box.  She was the reason I sought out heated beds to begin with; but she's happy enough curled up on the back of the couch too.

We've also made their kennels cozy with towels and a blanket cover.  They used to have a foam cube bed they liked in colder months too.

I sometimes put a kitty sweater on my Mittens, but I don't leave it on for too long. Believe it or not, he actually likes it. He doesn't want me to take it off. Now, my Shadow will run the other way if he sees a sweater in my hands. He will wear it for a picture or two, but then you better take it off. My kitties love kitty blankets, cat beds (Shadow loves the ones that look like caves). Of course, they both love people beds. As long as your kitty has cozy blankets and cozy places to sleep, she will be fine. She also has all the other kitties to cuddle and you as well. She will be nice and warm!

Do you have radiators? Those fluffy beds that hook over the sides are great.

My lot just use me.

Thanks so much to all who replied. Now have tons of fleece throws and warm beds. Not usually this cold in Dec here, so we may be facing some chilly months. Fortunate to have a big fireplace which all the fur kids love. they're protected from igniting like little furry fireballs by screen and glass and so enjoy the warmth. Everyone be warm!
