My cat gave birth to only one kitten! A month ago on my birthday(she is a small cat) and i noticed the kitten has a deep sunken in spine below the shoulder blades and his ribs have an appearance as if he was squashed. Today I noticed he is very weak, he is very small and sleeps all the time. As for the mother cat I noticed one of her breasts is very enlarged and hard to the touch and her other breasts seem empty and flat and I noticed the kitten only sucks from the enlarged breast. First thing in the morning I'm taking them to the vet. I'm scared I have to euthanize the kitten, does anyone have experience on a similar kitten? Does the mother cat have mastitis? Is the kitten weak because of the cats matitus or could it be the deformity of the poor little guy?

Good you are going to the vet for a check up and discussion.  We hope to rule out any mastitis.   With just one kitten such pic as you witness is common - the alone kitten uses his favorite teat, and the others are going empty after awhile.

Still, it may be wise if you supplement the kitten some.    Goats milk is good - especielly raw goats milk.  Easier to get and cheaper is" prepared" goat milk, in bottle or powdered, as you can buy it in many shops and Walmart... be sure its at least 2,8% fat.  No funny diet variations...

OR some good  kmr, of course.

You can try and give some extra energy by giving the kitten some glucose sugar solution.  For example, by smearing thick honey water on its lips and gum.   Honey contains much glucose.   do not smear the honey directly on the lips - a weak kitten may not have the strengh to lick it off...  So, thick honey water.

What is with the backside I dont know, the chest may be what is called for flat chest syndrome.  We did had a couple of good treads on it recently, try and find them... (here in this forum).   If the case isnt too bad, to prognose is positive.
