Is dog-size Advantage II still safe to break down into cat doses?

We used to break down dog-size Advantage tubes to treat our large crew of cats, but switched to Frontline for the added tick protection about two years ago. The Frontline stopped being effective (to the point where it does absolutely nothing), so we decided to go back to Advantage II.

However, after I ordered and received a package of the Advantage from 1800petmeds, I noticed that there is a warning on the box that I've never seen before: "Keep cats away from treated dogs for 24 hours. If applied to or ingested by a cat, contact your veterinarian."

Does anyone know if it's still safe to break the Advantage down for the cats?

Short answer: yes, if you use the correct dose, and as long as it's Advantage, NOT Advantix. We had another thread about this recently with a more in-depth discussion. . .I'll see if I can find it. . .

Thanks so much for the reply. ^_^ I searched for recent topics about it but couldn't seem to find any.

What I have is Advantage II, extra-large dog size, so we should be good on that front. The dosage we were using before was, IIRC, 0.4ml for cats less than 9 pounds and 0.8 for the ones over 9 pounds. Is that still right, or has it changed since the last time I used Advantage?
