I was wondering if anybody can give me any advice I had a pregnant stray cat come to me who eventually had two babies both I believe are male and both were born with curled ears they are now 6 days old and one kitten still has the curled ears and the other is now almost completely straight I did my research on the American curl and I realize that it is a deformity but my question is do these kitties look like they are American curl kittens they were both born with curls and in my reading it said that they curled a few days after they were born so I'm not sure if they will straighten up or if indeed I do have a kitten with the rare Gene I'm keeping these kittens they are not for sale but I wanted to make sure that they didn't need to see a vet due to this abnormality or if it is something that will just be table talk for me to show Friends of the cute ears of my new kitties I will post pictures as well thanks in advance Amanda

Aww, cute little muffins! I don't know about the genetics of it myself, but if the gene is a random mutation, then I don't see why it can't show up in a stray litter.

They are almost surely points "siamese-mixes" - you will see for more sure in a few days, if they darken up at the pointed pars alike ears, tail, face and perhaps paws...

I dont know much about curls, but statistics are heavy against it...

Tx for helping this little sis of our, and her precious children.

I checked her for cleft pallett and i dont see anything of concern other than that. Fyi they will see a vet in a week. As im in between checks but they are eating and doing good thus far

This is surely nothing alarming as she isnt troubled by this.  I suppose later on, a minor surgery should fix it.  Perhaps even a sort of "diletation forcee" - (ie a opening up by pressing out) of course with some type of pain killer and or sedating.

For a hunting cat out in the open it would be invaliding, but for a home cats its just a minor inconvenience.
