Hello hello! Happy first Tuesday of December!

Christmas (And Hanukkah) specials are upon us! And along with many Christmas cartoons, TV shows and movies, there are always those other movies or shows that are not entirely seasonal related but somehow ended up being part of tradition.

For example, Die Hard, which I'm sure everyone is already aware of. My good friend in particular always watches it when it comes on the tely this time of year
Others I know enjoy Batman Returns, Harry Potter, Gremlins and Lethal Weapon. All of them celebrate the season happily, while also happily engaging in these little rituals.

So my Q to you...

If you have one, what is your favourite non-Christmas Christmas movie?

Mine would be The Sound of Music. I don't know why, but I am always drawn to watching it. And it *always* plays on TV during the holiday time.

I don't watch TV these days so am not sure what non-Christmas movies are usually aired this time of year.  I do remember when E.T. aired in December and I always somehow found myself in front of the screen.  The Back to the Future trilogy often aired as well and I am always ready to watch them again.  Obviously it's been a long time since I've watched TV!

I am hooked on NCIS, NCIS N.O., + Criminal Minds. My last movie was You Got Mail.

I particularly like the oldies around the holidays on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) - we always watch "The Man Who Came to Dinner" every year.

Can't say I noticed any particular movies that come around at Christmas time to tell you the truth...

We didn't have a TV when I was a kid, but I remember one Christmas at my grandparents house when we watched Paint Your Wagon. I still love the song that Lee Marvin sings at the end.

I don't really have a non-Christmas Christmas movie. My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol (the 1951 version is my favorite).

It's also one of my favorite books.

Just saw Forbes report - the #1 highest grossing film at Christmas is Home Alone - I should have remembered since it was my daughter's favorite movie growing up.

I don't have a particular movie to watch on Christmas, but if I had my choice, I would love to see Life With Father.   Actually, our local cable station tends to play this around holidays and maybe they will play it this year.  I would also like to see any of the Andy Hardy movies with the young Mickey Rooney.

I don't really have a favorite movie. I love Fly Away Home from Disney. I like action movies. Grand Toreno. Anything Clint Eastwood. Million Dollar Baby was another one I love. I never used to like boxing movies but I have been on a Rocky binge for some time. Then there was that movie about the life on a space station turned into a new world-Elysium. I love movies with a good story to them. For a few weekends I was watching movies produced in the early 1990s because I was in high school then and didn't have time to watch tv. I have a large range of movies I like.

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I've seen Robocop a couple of times around New Year. It seems to be a favourite re-run for this time of year. Also the first Predator movie. Nice and cheerful holiday movies! :lol3:

When I was younger and we all went to my grandparents' house for Christmas it was Indiana Jones. The older ones, this was in the early 90s. I don't know why. Every other time we'd go over, Grandpa would have old westerns on.
