Hi :-)

I'm trying to find out what breed my cat is. Her name is Silas and she's 1 year and 5 months. She loves to cuddle and is very photogenic as the pictures below will show ;-). Her coat is unique compared to my other cats..

The fourth photo is a picture when she was just a few months old. The rest are more recent. Any insight would be appreciated! :-)

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I would say she is a torti, or a tortoishell cat.  She's a cutie!

Hi and welcome to the both of you!  She is gorgeous!!

I would classify her as a domestic shorthaired and her coloring as torbie due to her darker coloring.

She is lovely!!  I adore  torties and torbies! They are so unique and so beautiful!

I agree,  I myself think she is diluted tortie, possibly a torbie (ie tortie+tabby), if you manage to see darker tabby stripes on the dark spots...  These on the creme spots dont count here.

Very pretty girl!

I should add that Meadow (pictured above) has some yellowish/brown spots. They're very small and will probably show more as she gets bigger and gets longer. But again, they're not too dark and there's not a lot of them!

Yes, she is diluted torbie, here we dont need to hesitate about her being a tabby.   And its enough with ONE red / creme spot, as long we are sure its a red spot for real - not a more superficial reddish rufism.  Because a red or creme spots shows she does carry the red gene.   But rufism is just a "fault", its no true red caused by the true red gene.  More shine than reality.  So to speak.

Thank you very much for the thorough explanation :-). Yea the creme spots are definitely there. No red spots though. I will keep an eye out when she gets longer :-). My friend has 2 other cats that she wants to know what they are so I will post them here later!

I would say the first is a tortie, I don't see stripes on her dark bits and she doesn't look dilute to me :dk:. The second looks like a dilute torbie.

This baby here is my boyfriends cat! She is a female, she's almost 3 years old! Would love to know what type of breed she is. These are the best pictures I could find of her. And yes she is the mommy of both Silas and Meadow :-)
