The lady downstairs from me has 3 cats and they all have worms! When I am in the garden, I can see them hanging from their bottoms. I am a little concerned because my kitten, Guinness is just starting to go outside. He has had all his jabs and is up to date on worming etc. I know that he will get worms from time to time but just wondered if he can catch them from other cats? Also, do you think I should tell my neighbour that the cats have worms?

Are they the white stringy looking worms? If so, these are tapeworms, and it doesn't really matter if they have them or not, if yours comes into contact with fleas whether inside or outside, he can get it also. Tapeworms are easily treated with Drontal, which you can get from your vet. Nothing to get too worried about!

I would tell my neighbor if I noticed something wrong with any of their animals. If I had never spoken with them before I would be a little worried they may think I am being a "nosy neighbor". But it is a health issue and in the best interest of the cats.

Do they seem to take good care of their cats? It seems to me that if you noticed that their cats have worms by just seeing them in the garden, wouldn't they have noticed them as well?
