Looks like that won't be under our tree this Christmas. A $60 game is selling for $260 and that's if you can find the thing. What a rip-off. People are standing in line overnight at Toys R Us for 10 games. People are using bots to order in quantities and then reselling them for higher prices. I'm not going there.

I told Dear Richard that maybe we can try to get it in January or February. My birthday is in January, so it could be considered a birthday present. And, if all else fails, I'll just wait til spring and buy the blasted thing myself.

I would sell my eye teeth for this game.

Just checked amazon here and they're double the price.

Have you heard of this? https://retropie.org.uk
It's pretty simple to put together and can cost as little as 25-30 €/£/$, and you've still got a little computer at the end.

The local Toys R Us got a shipment of the Nintendo system and Hatchimals a few days ago and people started camping out the day before. :nod:

Yes, I was watching on the news about people camping out. I'm just going to wait. (But I am disappointed; it's the kid in me.)

Speaking of Hatchimals, one of my co-workers is married with two little girls. They want Hatchimals so badly they can almost taste them. That's all they talk about. And he can't find them! It's that bad that, I guess, that Hatchimal actually created a letter from Santa, explaining why the egg isn't under the Christmas tree!

I'm so glad we're not having to deal with things like around the holidays anymore. We did with our son because of Star Wars stuff and we always made sure he got what he wanted....and sometimes it was rough, but we managed. (I remember I used to do ceramics back then and he wanted this ceramic Star Wars light, but never said anything until mid-November. I spent weeks working on that thing. Between getting the clay piece trimmed and sanded, then taking it in to be fired, then the first coat of paint, then another firing, then more paint, etc. It was really intricate work, too, and I was working full-time and trying to get baking done. And then I was spending hours and hours up at my parents' house, working on that blasted light because we didn't want him to know he was getting it. I managed to finish that light for him and he was just tickled to death with it, but I developed more than a few grey hairs that year. The things we do for our kids.
)

Last year, there were some American Girl accessories that our granddaughter wanted and that were sold out. I tried, I really tried to find them. We ended up giving her a gift card to AG and she was able to buy them later on. Fortunately this year, I ordered early enough that nothing was sold out. Or maybe AG isn't as popular as it used to be.
