Hello all,

As evidenced by my posting here, I'm new, and would like to introduce myself and my cats. I love animals, and have more than just cats. I own two fish, and a one year old Maltese-Shitzu. Having said that, I have a preference for cats, and have two of them. They are both domestic short-hairs, one is a black and white girl I named Anna. She's 8 weeks old, and is very playful. She loves my bracelet, and will play with just about anything. I recently adopted her after a year of grieving for another female cat I owned that ran away and then died. Then there's Oscar. He's a 3 year old stripped ginger. He has human-like qualities and can even talk. He understands full sentences (especially when they involve the words, food, hungry, and dinner because he loves food and is always hungry. Lol.) He likes being outside, but can also be very lazy.

As for me, well, I'm still in my twenties, so I haven't owned animals of my own for very long, but for the time I have had them, I find them to be very life-enriching. I also hope to become a foster carer for cats one day, as I think all cats deserve a chance, and I'd like to be able to help the ones that people forget about. So, if I can save even one cat from being abused, abandoned and so forth, I would. I'm a firm believer of helping such cats, and having them be adopted out to good homes is very important to me.

Anyway, I think I've rambled enough! Lol. I'd love to hear about the cats you all have! What are they like?

Thanks for reading! Have a good day/night! :D

Hello Littel Quill, welcome to TCS :wavey:
Glad to hear that your love animals especially cats. So sorry to hear about the unfortunate death of your kitty that ran away. But good thing now you have two. Hope that bring you joy.
And it's great to hear that you like helping cats and fostering them. Maybe when the time is right, you'll have a handful to manage.
In the meanwhile, do jump into the many threads and articles in this site and it'll definitely help you to be a better cat carer and a responsible owner. Do post photos of your cats!

Thank you, TabbyTom. :) Thanks. I beat myself up over it for almost a year. I still have bad days, but now I realise that there's nothing I can do to change what happened.I'll always miss her, but I need to focus on the animals I still have. It was my partner's suggestion to get another cat. (I guess he was tired of my always being depressed. Lol.)

Anyway, here are the pictures. (I only have one of my kitten, because it's hard to get a nice photo from her as she won't sit still.) The kitten is Anna. And the ginger is Oscar. They are 8 weeks and 3 years old.

Nice to meet you LittleQuill!

Nice to see you got a new kitty to make up for the old one.

Alas, cats do have a free will, and sometimes use it improvidently. (Had a few run away myself, always hurts. The call of wild, often.)

Where in Oz are you from?

I'm in California, USA, and have a lot of friends in OZ; one even flew from Tasmania to visit my palm garden!

Nice to meet you too DoomsDave! Yeah they do. In my case, I was living in an environment that meant she was surrounded by other people and their cat. She didn't like it, cause she didn't like other people. She put up with it while I was there. Then one day, she went outside and didn't come back. I found out last month that she was actually sick, and I didn't know at the time because she was her usual self. I miss her everyday.

Oh, I live in Queensland. Lots of heat and summer storms right now. I LOVE storm season! Really? My partner and I wanna see America one day. We love the countryside there. What's it like in California?

California is one of the most varied places in the U.S.

Southern California alone has about 25 million people in it, which is a blessing and a curse both. Palms and sagebrush.

The Bay Area is different, Redwoods and pines.

I've lived here 31 years and I've not come close to seeing everything.
