No dry food since that can keep blood glucose levels too high, even fairly low carb ones. I've used Nature's Variety Instinct dry in the past for a diabetic cat but that was only temporary (a week max) until I could get him into low carb canned food while closely monitoring his blood glucose levels.

Have you tried Fancy Feast Classic / Gourmet pates? Those are low carb for diabetic cats and many cats like the brand. http://www.felinediabetes.com/glutenfree.htm

I recommend that you also post for additional food advice and general diabetes help on the FelineDiabetes.com board.

Ok, feed dry food for now. Give Nature's Variety Instinct Originals a try. There is also Young Again dry food which is supposedly zero carb but that's been highly debated on the FDMB.

Let me see if I can find your FDMB post and bump it up. The board can get busy and threads can be overlooked. What is your username on the FDMB? @js124

If your cat isn't eating wet that's sort of a problem isn't it?

I can't seem to find your post on the FDMB to bump it up so it gets replies
What's your username there? Is it different from the one you use here on TCS?

Diabetic cats need to eat so if dry food needs to be fed, then it needs to be fed. Especially if the cat is on insulin. Once the cat is eating normally again, you can slowly start to transition over to a canned food diet, even a partial canned food diet. I'm sure there are some FDMB members who do feed only a low carb-ish dry food for one reason or another. They can better provide help on how to manage a diabetic cat on a dry food only diet.
