So this is a complicated question because it's two things. I recently became mommy to a diameter mix kitten so super cute and my older male cat is aloof but always my cat running to me all over me n such. I found fleas so we gave him a flea bathe two days ago he was acting his normal self but I noticed today he has been acting distant. And tinkling on my wall and just not himself today. So I'm wondering is this because of the kitten. Would a flea bath make him a t odd after 2 full days of him acting just fine. I'm a little worried and lost my 3 year old bengel mix almost two weeks ago suddenly so I'm a wreck please help give me piece of mind.

Have you noticed any changes? Perhaps a strange cat outside?

Did you introduce the two cats properly?

Older cat may be a bit stressed with the new kitty if they weren't introduced properly.

I would also make sure all urine spots are cleaned properly with an enzyme cleaner.

If he continues to urinate outside the box, take him to the vet to rule out any health issues. If there's no health issues, then we can look at behavior issues.

Keep us posted!

Is the older cat neutered? if not, that may explain some of the behavior, if he is, spraying the wall is definitely a sign of change and stress in a male cat's life. It will stop when he becomes more comfortable, but get a good enzyme cleaner to stop him from re soiling those areas. Clear carpet runner , upside down with the 'nubs' up can keep him from areas too if he keeps going back.  The flea bath just added a lot more stress to his upside down world, so yes, it could escalate his behaviors. He feels he is being punished for something. Give them both lots of love and treats, feed them close together to bring on 'good' feelings. Time will bring on acceptance, it is difficult right now, but the annoying little one will grow up and become calm and they will become friends if not family. You will be blessed fro trying to help your older cat, he needs reassurance right now, and your love and time will bring it.
