Oh wow. We went to that Amish farm out the road from us. Their baskets are beautiful! Reed baskets with a pretty wooden bottom. I was able to find a really nice basket, a great size, for less than $30! Turns out the father makes the baskets by hand and he makes all sizes. You can special order them with your choice of colors, too. I was happy with what was in stock, so we were good there. It's a nice size and it will hold everything.
They have a mid-size shed in their yard for the "store". They also can a lot of things which are also for sale: chow chows, jams and preserves, pickles, relishes, etc. It's all very nice and I didn't think it was expensive at all. They have everything from really small baskets to the larger clothes hamper size....and everything in between. And it's right out the road from our house!
I think it will look nice with some greenery, maybe a bit of bayberry, the wine and the food. I told Rick all my sister needs to do is put a comfy blankie inside, put the basket on the floor and a kitty would gladly make it a bed!
Heck, with Harley, she wouldn't even need to put the basket on the floor (Harley is a counter-surfer).
Maybe after the holidays, I'll run back out and buy a much thinner basket for above our refrigerator.
