Just a quick question. My 8 month old DLH kitty has fleas. Should I shave him? I feel like it might help to get rid of them easier, but I'm just wondering if it's a good idea or not.

Personally, I wouldn't.

I'd bath him in Dawn (remember to put a ring of soap around his neck so the fleas don't try to escape to his face and eyes), several times if need be.  Then I'd treat him with Revolution.

I don't think shaving him is a good idea either. Even if you take him to a groomer they won't be able to shave around his face and the fleas will just hide there. You can bathe him if you want to, but few cats will tolerate being bathed without putting up a fight. This article explains how to bathe kittens that are too young for flea medication.

I think in your case the easiest thing to do is get a good flea medication (ask your vet which one they recommend) and then go over your kitten regularly with a flea comb to make sure you've got rid of them all.

With a bad infestation you will probably need to repeat the flea meds and treat your cat's bedding and your house too.
