Hello everyone! I have a 14 months ild persian female. She was completely normal a few weeks ago but recently she started sneezing for like 6 times in a row. I thought maybe she caught flu or was a bit wary of the weather change but today, she is making a weird painful noise whenever i try to pick her up. She is sleepinga nd staying indoor alot! she is also eating quite less then regular. She was just sleeping a lot since past week but today she is crying whenecer i pick her up. Any suggestions? I will take her to the vet tomorrow but since i live in a small city of pakistan, vet is not very proessional or great. Any suggestions would be great! Much appreciated!

If she's crying whenever you pick her up, then she is in pain.   This is not necessarily related to her sneezing.  Since she is an indoor/outdoor cat, she may have been injured while she was outside.   However, all of the symptoms are definitely worth worrying about and it's excellent that you are taking her to the vet tomorrow.  It's unfortunate that you don't have access to a very good vet but maybe we can help you by suggesting questions you might ask him.   It's hard to know what might be going on from here so please let us know what the vet says after he examines her.

First, make sure he examines her thoroughly but gently.  She will need to be checked for injuries and a gentle touch is needed.   Ask him about x-rays of the area that seems most tender.

Ask also about an antibiotic. It might be that she has a bacterial infection that is causing the sneezing, especially if she's expelling green or yellow mucus when she does.

Make sure he checks up her nose.  Sneezing can be a sign that something is stuck up there.  He should also listen to her heart and lungs.

Ask him about an appetite stimulant to get her to eat.  This is really important as she can develop a potentially fatal liver disease if she stops eating.

Ask him also about pain medicine.   Cats are very good at hiding pain.  Since your girl is crying, it means she really hurts.

And finally, check out this thread.  There are some excellent ideas for encouraging her to eat.  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/330148/my-sick-cat-wont-eat

Please let us know how she does.

Not sure if i will get the x ray or not but i will wurely check all of the above! Thank you so much! Btw just now she went all crazy behind a cockroqch but still cried when i touched her.. dont know what happened.

I know you have said in the past that you can't spay and neuter. Are all of your cats female at this point? I would worry about a possible pregnancy or pyometria here.

No. I have 3 male kittens but they are all kittens. Also i know she is not pregnant bec i take great care of that. Also like a month ago,she was feeding her own kitten. And plus i have been through her phase of getting pregnant. It is nothing like that at all. She is under surveilance 24/7

She could be pregnant again even if you haven't seen her go into heat and even if she just had a litter. Cats can have silent heats. Pyometria is still a concern.

How old are the males? What are you going to do when they get older?

Two of them are four months but the third i got from the road so i dont know his age. He will also be around four months or less. And tbh i have not thought about what i will do when they grow up. I have been caring for strays since a long time but male cats never stayed in our house so i never worried... i think i am gonna get one of them spayed along with my persian female(i have found a local vet but i worry he isnt professional) But dont know about the rest two. They are all sweet and stuff but I cant do much

Okay so i took her to this another vet because the one i went to was not in town. Well he suggested some tablets and everything went fine for a while and i was out of town.

Now taht i am back, i can literally feel a lump on her stomach. Im goint to take her to my old vet. My sister (who is a human doc) suggests that she has some breast swelling... what could it possibly be? She says it is like a sist... kinda soft.

But she is all right in all other ways. She runs and plays with other cats. She gets crazy in the morning and climvs trees. But she does sleep more.. it is winter too but i dont know..

Where are you seeing the blood?   Is it associated with the lump?   There probably isn't much you can do in the next four hours except keep an eye on her and give her lots of love.  You've already done the most important thing by making a vet appointment.   If she seems to be in severe pain and/or is bleeding profusely, you should take her to an emergency vet now, but if she's still acting as frisky as you described in post #9 and there is only a little bit of blood, you can wait until your appointment.  Please let us know what the vet says.  Sending vibes your way that it's only a minor problem:

I see that she was nursing a kitten as recently as a month ago, so yes, she could have an untreated infection of the milk glands.  However mesitotis is a fairly common infection in nursing mamas, so it's kind of surprising that the vet didn't recognize it, if that's what the problem is.   Cats with mesitotis also tend the be lethargic and suffer from a lack of appetite, two symptoms she doesn't have.  Still,I'd definitely ask the vet about the possibility.  The bleeding is definitely a concern, although from what I've read, bleeding is not usually associated with infected breasts.

Your girl is so pretty!  I hope the vet will be able to put her on the road to recovery and provide some immediate pain relief.

I really hope those injections give that sweet girl some immediate relief.  Thanks for letting us know what the vet said.  I'm eager to hear how she does!
