Awww,  Gloria, Thank You SO much. Yes every bit helps!  I am grateful!

That's ok. No problem.   I just wasn't sure if you knew.

Thanks Cindy!  Yes, I do worry. I know she will be fine. I've got the best vet ever! Angel had an extraction two separate times there as well, so I know she's in good hands.

I think I am just too empathetic. Worried because she won't understand why she can't have breakfast, especially when she wakes me up for it, and worried that she won't understand when being dropped off in the morning. She hates being kept in, so being in a cage at the vets all day is going to make her miserable & scared, I'm sure. I hate that she has to be in there all morning, Surgeries aren't until the afternoons, so they can do the blood work to make sure she's good to go under in the mornings. Drop off is between 8 & 9, so it will be 9;00. Don't want her to have to be there any longer than she has to be.

Like I said, I always say I'll be back when I leave the house, even if she's up on the porch, so hopefully she will understand I'll be back for her when I say it tomorrow.

Jeez, I feel like an emotional mom who's going to take her child to kindergarten for the first time.

My parents live half way between here & there, so I will go there for the day, until they call me for pick up, so I don't have to go all the way home. It's 11 miles from here. Doesn't sound far, but it's all the way on the other end of town, & between traffic & lights, can take 30 minutes or a little more. Just depends. Hopefully, I will be able to pick her up by 4:00. That seems like the usual time.

Thanks again for the thoughts you guys!

I understand and can empathize completely... ((Hugs))

Well, I tried to put the harness on her again tonight, but she just moaned & groaned the whole time, so I just took it right back off. I didn't want to stress her anymore. So, that means I'm not even going to try in the morning. She'll be stressed enough. I just hope she waits to pee at the vets.
We did have a really good play session w/ da bird tonight! [emoji]128077[/emoji]
After eating at 4:00, She left about 2tbs of her dinner earlier around 5:30, which was 1/2 of a 5.5 oz can, so after she left it the rest of the night, it had dried up, so I threw it away. I knew I wanted to give her a little food later tonight, hoping she won't be as hungry in the morning. I gave her 1/2 of a small 3oz can at 10:00, & she ate it all, so I put the rest out, & she just finished it up at 10:45, so hopefully she will be good. She had 2 dinners tonight! (Around 5-6 hrs apart). But the first, I think was only about 1/4 can, cause she only ate about half.
It's almost 11:00, so headed to bed.
Will update tomorrow.

I know you must be stressed worrying about tomorrow. Any cat mommy or daddy completely understands. It sounds like she is uncomfortable with the harness. She probably just likes to run out. My kitties would never tolerate the harness. Not sure really, never tried it.
Hope Sammy will be full until she can eat again. She may look for food in the morning (mainly since she can't have any).
Wishing you both a good night's rest.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Sammy tomorrow.
Be sure to update when you can!
We all care about you and Sammy!

Thank you! Sammy was breaking my heart this morning. She was cry meowing all morning, not understanding why she wasn't getting fed, or couldn't go out. I told her she wasn't being punished, that she was a good girl, & could eat as much as she wanted tonight. That she would feel better when it was all done. Held her, & showed her me dropping some rescue remedy on my tung, saying, " see, mommy do it too." Then put some in the side of her mouth. She was so stressed, I don't think any of it helped, because I sprayed the carrier & car w/ comfort zone 20 mins before leaving, & she cried the whole way, anyway. I think she peed too. :( Poor baby, I wish we could make them understand.
I think it was hard for me too, because it's her first drop off. :(
Pick up is supposed to be 4:45, but told them if she is ready earlier, to call me.

Aww, poor little Sammy.  She will be so happy to be home tonight that she will forget being so unhappy this morning.  She may also be completely stoned out of her gourd.  Chula came home from her dental in fine spirits. She had the zoomies several times and spent about 15 minutes happily splashing in her water fountain.  She also didn't need the pain medicine past the first night so I hope Sammy recovers quickly as well.

Has the vet called you yet to let you know how everything went?

Aww, thanks Margd,. That's funny she was playing in her fountain & great she didn't need the pain meds!
No, no call yet. They are so busy, I probably won't get a call until the pick up call.
I hope she doesn't need the pain meds, because she loves being outside, & I don't want her going out if shes not "clear." You know? She needs to have her wits about her.
She would drive me CrAAAzy if she had to stay in. She paws at the glass door & meows.

Lol, this post was just interrupted by a call from the vets. It's only 3:25 & she is ready to go! Also just had the one extraction.
Yay, going to pick up my baby! :D

We are home now. I put the carrier , the pad & towel in the wash!
They said she did good. I didn't see the vet, she was busy. That is a first, she usually always comes out.
I'll send her a little thank you email. Gave Sammy a 3oz can for dinner, she ate about half, went & sat in front of the door looking out for a while. She's eating the rest now. Well...Looks like she left a little, but is doing good for just having that done. Came home w/ 3 syringes of the Buprenorphine ev. 12 hrs for two days. Said to give tonight before bedtime, so I figure if I give it to her at 10, then she should be able to go out by 10 in the morning. I'll see how she seems. It will be hard to tell if she needs it or not. I guess as long as she's eating fine, & not retreating anywhere, she's OK. If she seems OK,
Maybe I will just give it to her in the evenings, so she can go out during the day. I wish she liked to stay in more, but she is just one of those kitties! She she stays pretty close by anyway. She in front of the door again, she'll probably be there most of the night.
Follow up visit is two wks from today at 4:00. Balance was not as high as I thought it would be, (I was praying!) So after donations, only had to put 80.00 on the care credit. Praise God!
Hate to use it at all with such a balance still on there, but greatful I have it.

Thanks again to every one!! XO!

That's great about the money side of things!

Sparrow usually loves going outside, but when he was back from his week long absence, I was able to keep him in for 5 days. He was so tired, he didn't want to go out. Maybe you will be able to keep Sammy inside at least tomorrow?

I'm happy it all went great, and I hope Sammy will recuperate quick!
to you both ;)

Do you guys think that sounds ok, so she can go out tomorrow?
I will be home, so she can come in anytime, or knowing her, she will sleep in the carrier on the porch.

...with the cats...
i'm so glad that everything went well, and your Sammy girl is back home now! is she still 'loopy' from the anesthesia? our Dude (aka, Jaspurr) was way loopy until the next morning -- but he'd had 2 1/2 teeth extracted.

Thank you! I would love it if Sammy would stay in, but she has already spent the majority of our time home in front of the door.
It's nice out, so have the windows open, & she is currently half on her tree shelf, & half in the window. Lol, silly girl.
Of course I'll try to keep her in as long as possible tomorrow, but don't think she will go for it. That's why I figure if I only give her the meds at night, she will be "clear headed" during the day. She usually comes & goes during the day, so doesn't stay gone all day. Also a lot of time on the porch, so I'll see how she seems in the morning.

No, she seems OK. She ate a 3oz can, so that's good.
She's just been looking out the door, or up in the windows,
Probably thinking, darn, I didn't get to go out today! She's pretty quiet, with only an occasional meow, so that's good.
If she isn't pawing & meowing at the door tomorrow, I will keep her in as long as I can, but something tells me she will be back to herself by morning!

Maybe you'll have a better idea about giving her the meds tomorrow when the morning comes.  Right now, it's hard to judge because she's still full of meds from the procedure.  (Thank heavens that went well!)  If Sammy seems fine in the morning, I don't see why you should have to give her the meds and keep her inside.  If she's in pain and needs the meds, it's probably best to keep her in.  When I've had to give cats buprenophine, I've never noticed any loopiness in them, but that's only a grand total of two.  I would think at the very least it would slow down reaction times.

I'm so glad the procedure was less expensive than expected. This happened to me as well, and it is such a huge relief.  The best news of all, though, is that everything went well and that Sammy now has a mouth in good condition!

Thanks Margd, that's what I was thinking, & yes, if I have to give her any pain meds, I would definitely keep her in.
Oh, & yay, no more stinky breath!
I took da bird out to see if she felt like playing, & she went for it! She LOVES that thing. It's pretty much all she plays with now
Lol! Gonna have to get her da bee too sometime. "Since Artie highly recommends it!" :lol3:
Just took these a few minutes ago! :D
Oh yea, she also ate another 1/2 of another 3 oz can! [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Awww, what a sweetie pie.  Artie's recommendation encouraged me to buy Da Bee, too and Chula is crazy about it.   [emoji]128077[/emoji]

Lol, that's great!
Well, she wanted the other 1/2 can a min ago, here at 10:00, so gave it to her. Looks like she ate some of it, but think she's done. That's almost 2 full 3oz cans since 4:45 today! About 1 & 1/2 for sure. Gonna give her the pain meds, & get ready for bed. Hope she doesn't spit it out. Angel always got pills. Kind of glad though, Sammys mouth is so small. She's just so little compared to Angel, so I call her my little munchkin! [emoji]128516[/emoji]

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
How's the squirt doing this morning? I never noticed my girls getting Loopy from the meds. It just made them wide awake. Pumps has had it a few times with bladder infections and Floey with her cancer. Honeybee when she had her knee issue. But so far it's been a long time since I have used it. Glad they sent you home with the pain meds. It will help healing that much faster. I have to get Pumps in for a dental. as well as Bee Ktty. I am still trying to figure out expenses and see what's going on with my job due to the news of the parent company cooking the books and other mismanagement problems-so I will have to wait until June. So far everyone is eating and playing and happy purring away..except for the somewhat stinky mouth.  They both let me touch their mouths so gonna get a finger cat tooth brush and just try to get them used to it. Honeybee is a Hambone and lets me run my finger all around her teeth-the other one only one side then she tries to get away...dental care is good practice to keep their mouths healthy!

Glad Sammi is doing well.. The pain meds always get Artie stoned... he is so funny to watch. He will act like a kitten..rolling over and over and over, and constantly purring.

Glad Da Bee is working out for you and @Margd; Artie is tired of it.. time to give it a rest.. for a while.

I you could keep Sammy in for as long as you are able to.. it would be best for her. You do not want her chomping down on anything hard.. at least until things heal... her mouth is still raw..

((hugs))
