My cat developed a Urinary Blockage. We too him to our vet after hours and she was able to remove blockage. She put a catheter in and gave him a Cone. Well 6hours later and he has managed to somehow pull his catheter out already. Now what do I do?

Take him back to the vet asap. Im not sure what to do in the mean time sorry but i can offer some suggestions for the problem with blockages in general
as my cat had a similar problem with the blockage thing happening to him.

One thing i found for quick relief was a very mild solution of apple cider vinager and cranberry juice heavily diluted with water.  I would give one med sized syringe of this to him orally when i noticed crystals or blood in his urine. This dissolved the crystal build up almost instantly but if he cant pee at all or very little you need to take him to the vet straight away.

Another thing is don't feed him those generic biscuits you buy at the super market. They are awful for causing this problem. The supermarket food in general is not good.
Id suggest keeping him on a prescription diet for the problem, something like royal canin urinary s/o. My cat got blocked a couple of times and so i decided to get him a perineal urethrostomy. This worked for stopping the blockage but not the problem. He still got crystal build up and blood in his urine and was generally not too happy until i changed his diet and there has been no problem at all since.  It's not very expensive and you can give him a mix of prescription food with his normal food to keep the cost down and that will also keep the problem at bay. I found that the most effective and cheapest way was to buy a bag of prescription biscuits and give him a small amount per day either with his regular meals or as an in between snack. That has been enough that the problem has never returned and the cost has been around $50 for 3 months worth maybe even more.

I hope everything turns out well for you.

How is he??  Did you contact your Vet and get the catheter re-installed, or at least discuss with them and see if it was still needed?  Was he wearing the cone with he pulled it out?  How on earth did he managed it I wonder (if he was wearing the cone)?

This is obviously a very tricky situation and I think only your Vet will be able to help here because if it's needed, they may need to keep him "in house" for awhile to make sure he's not going to get himself in trouble.

What the above poster states about food is certainly true to try to prevent future issues.  food is key, as is trying get as much water into him as possible, and keeping him as stress free as possible.  Once this catheter crisis is past, we can address all that if you need assistance.

Update...
Yes he waz wearing his cone and in a large kennel when he somehow managed to pull the catheter out.
I contacted my vet this morning. She said that as long as he is drinking and urinating he should be ok. We have continued to keep in kennel so we can make sure he is not urinating elsewhere. This evening we put him in our spare bathroom with his litter box, food and water. He is not eating but is drinking some water. He has bathed himself in the dish of water and is just laying in his litter box.(making a mess) He is on medication for pain and was given an antibiotic. At this point we are thinking he may have another blockage. Unfortunately we do not have the funds to keep trying treatments. ;( only time will tell

It' is essential that you take him to the vet if he is blocked. He will die a painful nasty death if you do not take him when blocked! The vet will surely allow you to pay off any debt. If they have treated him before for the same thing and haven't completely fixed it they will usually do it for free or much cheaper to.
If he is not eating at all something is probably wrong. Also if he is sitting in his litter box that is not normal behaviour.  May i suggest contacting your vet again and telling him about these things? Chances he is blocked again so soon after a flush are slim but it sounds like there may be something going on still.

You really must get him to the vet.  It is an absolute emergency if he is blocked.  Your vet may be willing to work out a payment plan.

Any further update?  I agree completely that he doesn't sound good, particular the part about him lying in his litter box.

And I also agree that since your Vet has already seen him for this issue, they should certainly work with you on some sort of (discounted) payment plan since they might have released him early or without making sure that catheter was in "tight" or whatever.

Worse case scenario, maybe something here will help you:  http://www.thecatsite.com/a/no-money-for-vet-care-how-to-find-help-and-save-your-cats-life

Update....took him back to vet. He does not have another blockage. She gave him IV Fluids and a new catheter. She figures he is so sore he can't pee and was only able to dribble little bits at a time causing him to fill up again. So far the catheter is still in place and is working winderfully

That's great news except for that he is in pain. It's a rough road when these blockages start happening but once you sort out a diet that works it becomes very manageable. I hope everything goes well for you and your kitty.

So glad he's not blocked again.

Hopefully this catheter will stay in

Wednesday Update: Mr. Marlin aka Houdini managed to somehow get his 2nd Catheter out within 28hours. Luckily with the meds, syringe feeding and getting him to drink he is doing good! Tests showed some crystals in Urine but not a high amount. Vet recommended keeping him on diet (Royal Canin Urinary SO)... any other recommendations as that is costly

The royal canin urinary s/o wet food works out a lot more expensive to feed than the dry food of the same type. One thing i have learned is that you don't have to strictly feed them an s/o only diet but rather as long as they get some of the s/o in fairly regularly it should do it's job.

What i do is buy a 7.7 pound bag of dry food, which is roughly $40, Then when it's feeding time i give him half a can of normal canned food and a small handful of the urinary so. The bag lasts probably around 2 months or so at that pace possibly even 3, im not sure exactly because the cost is so insignificant at that rate that i don't need to budget for it.
When i first started him on the s/o i bought the wet food and pretty much strictly fed him that. The cost was much higher yet the result was the same.
I hope that helps a little. Glad to hear he is doing well.
