A couple of weeks ago, we ran out of dry cat food.  My boyfriend was going to pick up another bag on his way home from work.  Their bowl was full (they're all about 8 months old so I free feed dry food and give them wet a couple of times a day) so I figured they would be fine until John got home.  He works 12 hours shifts 3pm - 3am.  Around 10pm, they could see a little bit of blue at the bottom of their bowl under the food.  They took it in shifts to stand by the bowl meowing until John got home.  Not even kidding.  One of them would stand there meowing for 45 minutes to an hour, then kitty #2 would walk into the kitchen and start meowing and kitty #1 would come into the living room to nap or play.  Another 45 min to an hour and kitty #3 would relieve kitty #2 for nap/play time.  And they rotated.  Until 3:15 when I opened the new bag and refilled the bowl.  And I want to stress that the bowl never got completely empty.  They could just see the bottom.  They're not spoiled at all.

This is what I call teamwork. Be careful of what they plan behind your back! :lol3:

Mine sit on my foot and the black one has eyes like a starving kitten, she just needs to look at me with them.

My present cats just gather near me in the same room where I am when their bowls are empty. No yowling, howling, etc.

I once had a kitty who was different, the Panintheass. He was a little gray tux cat and if he wanted to be fed while I was sleeping, he'd jump into bed and give a poke in the forehead or cheek with a paw.

One day, I decided to prank him a bit, and played dead. The poking got more and more frantic. Finally, I tipped out of bed onto the floor. Mom said "Oh my God" and that's when I ended the game.

Sophie wakes me up by standing on me and chattering at me. She will also swat at me. If I hit the snooze button more than she thinks I should (which is not at all), she will smack my hand with her paw. That's at breakfast time.

When it's dinner time during the week, she waits in the kitchen window and greets me at the door where I am scolded for making her wait. If I am late for any reason, the scolding starts before I even open the door. I always walk the dog and feed her first because she only eats once a day. This riles up miss Sophie and she will jump up on the table and yell at me. If she thinks I am taking too long, she will jump down, stand by my feet and yell louder. If I am REALLY taking too long, she will jump up on the counter by the sink, poke around the dishes and continue yelling while smacking me on the arm with her paw.

In the meantime, what are her siblings doing? Henry for the most part just waits by the table but he will wind himself around my feet sometimes. Queen Lilith perches herself on the stool by the window and watches Sophie read me the riot act. It is beneath her to join in so she waits until the dishes are on the table and then will go choose one.

Tabby starts biting me hard even though he doesn't draw blood usually he still can leave bruises where he bites. So he shows he is hungry by biting my arm usually if I am in bed. Snowy just goes and chews on cords or threads from an old chair which we don't allow and he knows it.

My cat,Paloma, is 16 years old and was once feral. I have had her since she was 9 months. When she wants to eat she goes to any paper lying near me and starts to chew on it. The only way she stops is if I show her food bowl and tell her "dinner" then feed her for which she gives me a nice yelp.  I think she learned this from her mother, both of which my son and I rescued from a cold garage.

How is that for the cat ate my homework?

No pictures yet  because I am learning how to do accomplish this.

Looking forward to the paper chewing photos.

Mouse is a terror for chewing paper and I regularly hear him chomping down on anything he can find in my bedroom when he wants me to get up.
What puzzles me is how they know what the most important bits of paper are.... he can sniff them out whether they're under a big pile of other stuff, or well pushed down in my purse so there's no way I can just lay there and ignore him.

Mouse and Paloma sound a bit like my old Wesley.  He used to chew the corners off paperback book covers.   He'd pull the book off the shelf and go to work.  I must have had two dozen paperbacks with mutilated covers.

Our sweet little Sishya used to chew a hole in the bottom of large bags of dry food we stored in one room.  We had to put it behind a closed door so she wouldn't do this.

I got to go to school and tell my math teacher that my sister ate my homework when I was in middle school.  I wasn't lying.  DD is 12 years younger than me and she was a menace when she was little.  I had to put my makeup on top of my closet and she still got it and ate it.  I don't even get how - she was only 2.  Like, short.  She started walking at 8 months.  And she was just a terror.  She also threw a brick at my head and knocked me out because I was laying in the grass reading and not playing with her.

LOL; I think DD definitely takes the cake.  When she was 10 months old, my mom went out back to hang clothes on the line.  I was supposed to be watching her.  I was 12.  Never trust a 12 year old.  I was reading a book and when I read, the whole world disappears.  There were a few times that I forgot to get off the bus.  The bus driver would call my grandma or mom (depending on where I was supposed to get off that day) and say, "Alicia was reading again.  I'll bring her home when I'm through with my route.  And I was still off in my own little world.  So, anyway, I was reading and DD was being quiet.  Now I know that quiet kids are never a good sign.  She somehow managed to climb onto the washing machine, get the bleach out of the cabinet above it, open a childproof cap, and pour it on our other sister's carpet.  And I got grounded.
