Today I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. I did it for him and I will forever have a hole in my heart. RIP Ransom, My beautiful boy.

"If it should be I grow frail and weak, and pain prevents my peaceful sleep, then you must do what must be done when this last battle can't be won. You will be sad I understand, selfishness might stay your hand. But on this day more than the rest, your love and friendship take the test. We've had so many happy years, that what's to come can hold no fears. You'd not want me to suffer so, when the time comes please let me go. Take me where my needs they'll tend, only stay with me until the end. Hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you too will see, it is a kindness that you do for me. Although my tail it's last has waved, from pain and suffering I've been saved. Do not grieve it should be you, who must decide this thing to do. We've been so close, we two, these years.....Don't let your heart hold any tears."

I am very sorry for your loss of your beautiful boy Ransom. You have written a beautiful tribute to your baby. I wish my words could take a way your pain. Our fur kids are never with us long enough. I share tears with you and offer hugs during this difficult time. Please be kind to yourself while you are grieving and know that there are other people here for support that understand your pain.

Deb and I had tears in our eyes as I read this beautiful poem and also the one about the Rainbow Bridge, so very sorry for your loss of your beloved Ransom.

May your heart heal a bit more each day, you did what needed to be done for him but it feels like you yourself will also die, we know.

God Bless.....

I'm so deeply sorry for the loss of your Ransom. I could feel the depth of your love for him as I cried my way through that beautiful tribute. The decision you made today was indeed the greatest gift of love. You chose to put Ransoms needs before your own. I want to share with you a link to another beautiful piece written by another TCS member. I hope it brings you some comfort:

Ransom is running free and free from pain and suffering across the Rainbow Bridge.

It's amazing how much they touch our hearts. I truly feel sorry for people who never experience the bond and deep connection one can have with such beautiful, loving and loyal creatures. I told him wherever he goes I will find him as the thought of seeing him again one day is the only thought that's getting me by. I just feel so cheated that I only got 4 and a half years with him. I hope that peace will soothe your heart and that someone like you will be here if I lose one of my fur babies. Hugs to you, my friend.

Sweet Ransom is so very lucky to have someone love him like you do,the bond you have formed with this love will be with you forever. Because it is spiritual, not physical, it will live on and be tenderly held in your heart until your paths cross again at the end of your life's journey.  Ransom had all he ever wanted, a wonderful home full of caring and happiness, and someone to love him and be there when he needed them the most. Your heart is filled with pain now, but he had to go, and he would never want you to live the rest of your life in sadness, he wants only sunshine and happiness for the one he loved above all others. Be comforted by your precious memories of happier times and the fact that you had this precious boy in your life and he brought so much to it. My heart cries for what you are going through, I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Take care........RIP beautiful Ransom, sleep well on the warm laps of the angels who watch over you now. Send what comfort you can to the one left behind who misses you so very much. You were so very loved and will never be forgotten!

So so sorry for your loss of your beautiful baby boy. My heart goes out to you. Ransom was a very beautiful boy and for me, I will see him in my kitty everyday. They could have very well been brother and sister. I cried when I read your beautiful tribute to him and the poem you choose to remember him by. May you find peace in all the memories you shared with him.
