Kitty vomited after vaccinations

We brought our kitty home about a year ago ... she was a skinny stray living in the forest near the warehouse where my husband works, and we caught her, took her to the vet for shots and then brought her home for the first time that same day. That day she vomited a few times--it was just a white foamy vomit which I'm guessing was because she was a stray so had nothing in her stomach to throw up. After the first day she was feeling fine and is now a healthy, content kitty. I'm assuming that the vomiting was from the shots though it could have also been the stress of all the things that happened that day.

I am taking her to the vet tomorrow for her shots and checkup and am wondering if I should anticipate more vomiting. Is it wise to avoid feeding her before the appointment? She generally eats around 6am usually after pestering me like crazy to get up and feed her, but really she's the only person who could pester me out of bed that early in the morning because she's so stinking cute.

Her appointment is at 10 and I'd really hate to tell her she can't have breakfast, and I'm not even sure that the vomiting will happen again because her circumstances are so different now. Would any of you put off feeding her before getting her shots or is there just no reason to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @GiddyUpGo,

I would definitely go ahead and feed her at her normal time.

(Sometimes I do change the time I feed my cats, before bringing them into the Vets, but only because one of them tends to throw up in the car, so I make sure he eats at least two hours prior to driving.)

Just mention to your Vet, about the last time, and that she did vomit a few times after the vaccines, and what it looked like.

More than likely it was a combination of everything going on that day, as you mentioned.

Your Vet will tell you what to look out for after the vaccines, but it's usually cats being tired and sleepy, and if you do notice any vomiting again, then call your Vet back up, so they can instruct further, and note it down in her medical file.

I think because she is much stronger and healthier, that she will be fine.

Update afterwards and tell us how it went.
