Hi all. I realize I come across as a helicopter mom, but my cat, Hammy, is normally a very fit and healthy eater (despite her name). Last night she vomited her ENTIRE dinner up about 4 hours after she ate, and she didn't want breakfast at all. She spent most of the morning hiding in the closet.

This afternoon, she finally came out and snuggled more than she typically does, and I've been able to get her to work away at a spoonful of wet food.

I feed her 1/8 c. Fresh Pet + 1/8 c. Chx Soup Feline Adult in the AM, then the same mixture at night combined with 1/3 of the small cans of Fancy Feast at night, per the shelter's recommendation.

My cat started to vomit and wouldn't eat and just overall wasn't her normal self. I took her to the vet and they thought it was a hairball that she wasn't able to get up, so they gave me medicine. Throughout the day, she got worse so I ended up rushing her to the emergency vet. Turns out she had tape worms!! They treated her with all kinds of medicine, and by the next evening she was much better.

I would definitely take your kitty in to get checked out. It's not good when cats won't eat, usually means something is wrong. Let us know!

She's back to normal! Demanded to eat twice this morning, even. I found info on another website that suggested I feed a teaspoon of wet food every few hours (if she would eat), which she did. Mostly the liquid, but at least it was something. :) by evening, she cleaned a plate of 1/3 can fancy feast.

I threw out the remaining Fresh Pet I'd had, as well as the FF from her vomiting episode. Normally, I use one small can over 1-3 days, divided/sealed/refrigerated in a rubbermade container (she's a diva). The same goes for the Fresh Pet, which I freeze and thaw for week 1/2/3 (because it only lasts a week). It could have been either of these. It could have been soap residue on her dish, which i wash every day because of the wet food. It could have been anything.

She's her happy, fetch-playing self again, though :) so I'm happy, too. And I'm going to make sure that I use her FF over 2 days from now on, just to be safe.

I'm just glad she's back to normal.  Sometimes cats will get sick for the same reason WE might, and when that happens to mine, I just keep a watchful eye on them.  If it goes on for more than 24 hours, that's when I take them in to be seen.  This week we had a cat who wouldn't eat anything, not even treats, like Hammy, except no vomiting.  But luckily next day he was demanding food, like Hammy
.   I admit I was getting nervous, but now all is well both you and I can stop worrying, at least for now
