Hi. My foster kitty was spayed a couple hours ago, I noticed a few minutes ago that she had a little blood in her urine and a little bloody vaginal discharge. She's acting normal albeit a little wobbly from the anesthesia. She wanted food right away. I'm just a bit worried about the bleeding, I don't remember my other cats ever having that problem. She's a bit feisty so it's hard to get a good look at her. Does anyone know if post bleeding is normal? Thank you

If it was just a little blood and it has stopped, it was probably residual from the surgery. If you shes peed multiple times and each had blood OR you cleaned off the blood and noticed more then please call your vet ASAP.

I brought her to the vet, this morning I noticed small puddles of pinkish blood on the floor. Before she was spayed she was urinating quite a lot, so my vet said it could be a UTI , she gave her a shot of corvenia. I noticed that she's been laying in her litter box and peeing small amounts each time. She has a low body temperature,99.3 , vet said it could be because of the anesthesia. I'm supposed to bring her back tomorrow if she's still not better. She did eat a little this afternoon though. They did an ultrasound and didn't see any fluid or free floating blood or anything. I'm at a loss. None of my other cats had this problem

You're taking care of it as best you can. One day at a time and she'll be better before you know it. Complications are rare but they can happen. It's nothing you did wrong so don't beat yourself up.
