@xKitty Loverx  Beautiful drawing! I love the way you represent fur!

@clmgordon  Doodling counts as drawing
 the sea creatures would make really nice stamps or stencils, I could totally see them at the bottom of a letter or by a signature.

I'm getting a two year degree in art right now, and most of my class work isn't cat-related. I try painting cats during my free time though, once I get around to finishing them I'll post a few!

I'm in art school too :) I like to draw but I am majoring in ceramics.

This is a picture I drew of my boyfriend and his dog. :) It was hard to get the whole thing in the picture because the paper was 38"×22"

These are a set of 8 cups that I made for my first wheel throwing final. It took an average of about 3 hours each to paint the designs on the cups.

This was actually a self portrait a painted in oil paint in my senior year of high school. I'm still pretty proud of it :)

Wow!!  Those are all amazing!

The only drawing I can do is perspective drawing; because it's technical.  Without the technical - mathematical guidance; it's so difficult to keep things balanced.  Especially with facial features.  I will sometimes doodle landscape sketches and on rare occasions paint them.  Landscapes are much easier.  It's been a while since I've taken the time to paint anything that wasn't just "crafty".  My best final from college went missing from my bedroom at my mothers house and everything else I've given away.

xkitty loverx xkitty loverx , the eyes in your cat portraits are incredible !!!
I used my cat Ewok's eyes for an owl painting I was doing. She had huge golden, green eyes...

@Primula    I do sell my portraits actually :) I use the profits to fund my cat rescue.

If this is doodling, then I have no idea what to call what I do except AWFUL. I love art of all kinds but have no actual skill and I have the attention span of a gnat. Those two things added together don't equal much.

Your doodles are great. Mine would likely be seized by law enforcement as the workings of a lunatic.

But the only way to get better is to keep at it :)

1,000 trees have probably been cut down for the sake of my terrible drawings...now I'm lucky because I have a digital art pad, which I'm still adjusting to, but it really is all about practice.

Also YouTube has thousands of instructional videos on how to draw in various styles, as well as how to create digital art. I've watched a ton of those, and a ton of guitar lessons on things like funk and blues techniques...it really is an awesome platform for stuff like that.

Remember those ads in the backs of comic books and such back in the day where they asked you to draw "winky", a turtle or a pirate or something and send it in to them to see if you could win a "scholarship" or "cash prize"? Even they would laugh at me-
