We bought new mattress sets a couple years ago for two of our beds. They are both oak, antique beds. They stand high off the floor with the high headboards. The mattresses are about eleven inches thick. We had to get the smaller box spring to keep it all low enough to get on the bed without a stool. Lately I have been wanting to buy some new sheet sets. I like the 100% cotton ones.
In looking at the stores for sheet sets, everything comes to fit up to 18 inch mattresses. I have two sheet sets already like that I bought from Belk's. The fitted sheet comes loose after sleeping on it and won't stay on the bed.

So my question is, does anyone else have this problem. If so, where do you shop for sheet sets, or at least a fitted sheet to fit a smaller mattress?

Cozytown Linens offers bed sheet sets with pocket depth from 6' to 18'+.  They started their business to address the problem you are having.  Sheets are custom made and they are not cheap, $125 to $170 a set depending on size and thread count.  They are willing to send free swatches of material.  I have not done business with them.

If you get a set with elastic all around the fitted sheet, it won't come off even if the mattress is smaller. I get mine at Costco, I know Lands' End sheets have all-around elastic too. Not sure about any other brands, sorry, but they probably say somewhere on the packaging.

W Willowy We don't have a local Costco. I can look online. I have never seen fitted bed sheets that have elastic all the way around. I will check further will their website. Thank you.

I just checked out the website. They don't give information online as to the fitted sheet having elastic all the way around it.

Do you mean Lands' End? With this product: http://www.landsend.com/products/no-iron-sheeting/id_234559?sku_0=::KB4 , it says in the Product Details "All-around elastic fitted sheet fits mattresses up to 18" deep". I thought all Lands' End sheets were like that, but I checked the cheaper percale sheets and it doesn't say that, so either they didn't mention it or not all their sheets have it anymore :dk:. If you email or call them I'm sure they could tell you. Lands' End has very good customer service. Their sheets aren't cheap though :/.

I have sheets from Target that have the elastic all around the hem. It's the Threshold brand. The sheets fit mattresses up to 20 inches.

I have the Threshold brand sheets from Target.  They have been good sheets and they do have elastic all the way around.  The fitted sheet also has a tag for the top/bottom and sides.  That's handy on a king size bed!

LTS3 LTS3 You say your Threshold sheets from Target fit up to 20 inch mattress. How deep is your mattress?

and [ MoochNNoodles MoochNNoodles You also use these Threshold sheets. What size is your mattress in depth?

It seems like sheets this deep would not stay on an 11 inch mattress which is what I have.

I looked at the Target website. I think I might try to go to their store this weekend. Some of these Threshold brands look like they might work.

LTS3 LTS3 The two sheet sets I bought at Belks are so big, I think they would bunch up. I just don't like them. I want my sheets to be all cotton too. Right now I have some flannel ones on the bed. They fit tight. I used to solve this problem with a mattress topper. I had to get rid of it because with these taller mattresses, a topper makes the bed so high I need a stool. Yes, I am a little ole short woman. :lol3:

My bed is tall but I believe my sheets have 2 elastic slots at the corners.  Let me go see if I can get a picture....

I also have the Threshold Sheets from Target. My mattress is 13 inches deep. This bottom sheet fits very well. The elasticized sides are great!!  Plus, as @MoochNNoodles  states, the sides and bottom are labeled for easier times when making the bed up..

I like to have an overhang on the top sheet-- these are a bit short for that.. but I love the bottom sheet.

@artiesmom Thank you for your input. I am going to Target sometime in the next few days and see what I can find.

My mattress is 11 inches but it has a pilow top so that adds about 2 more inches. I don't use flat sheets, just the fitted sheet.

Thank you for this information. You mattress is just a bit taller than mine, but it encourages me that these sheets would work for my bed too.

I found this thread so I could report back that I did buy the Target sheet sets. They have elastic all around. They are 100% cotton and feel like the rough dried sheets off my grandmother's clothes line when I was a little girl. The top and bottom of the fitted sheet is labeled. They are the Threshold brand. I am very happy with the sheets. I believe they were about forth bucks a set.

I'm glad you like them!

I was thinking the other night; I wish I could get a couch cover in that material. Our couch is microfiber with a chaise at one end. I tend to fall asleep with the cats there and I wake up SO hot in the summer. Even if Mooch isn't actually sleeping on or next to me. I think those sheets just feel good. Not too hot and not too cold.

I didn't know they made fitted sheets WITHOUT elastic all the way around. I thought that's how that all were.
