I better make myself clear here. I'm not saying the cage is a bad idea. I'm saying that if your kitten is up all night meowing and meowing, then it is also going to disturb your sleep.
But maybe you can try it out and see how it goes. I understand the part if loosing sleep. And I do hope in the months to come your kitten can sleep with you and not in the cage.
Keep us posted if the progress. If you have any doubts or questions, please feel free to ask and we are most willing to help answer your questions.
In the meanwhile, give her lots of love and do post her photos for us to see ;)
Thanks TabbyTom! I understand that and right now I'm using these as temporary measures so I can get some sleep and in the meantime train her as she grows older cos at 9 weeks, I noticed that a lot of the things I teach her requires a lot of repetition. And here's a pic of her sleeping in one of the beds in my work shelf (which used to house my art supplies) which I converted into a space for her since she likes sleeping between my paintbrushes.

Yes, at 9 weeks, lots of things for her to learn from you as she can't learn them from her mother. You are right, it requires lots of repetitions of the right instructions.
She looks very comfortable sleeping in that bag. Always praise her for doing the right things even if she's sitting down doing nothing. Make sure your paints are non toxic to cats and she don't go chew the brushes.
BTW, she's a sweet Calico cat [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

Try this one sometimes worked for my girl when she was a kitten.
Have a play and feed her before bed. She should spend some time cleaning herself then come to bed. When she gets there try to have sustained eye contact and do the slow blink. It supposed to show a cat that you trust them. But sometimes I'd do this to my girl when she was a kitten and she'd slowly Knod off. I would do it several times slowly and keep my eyes closed for a few seconds and she'd fall asleep. You never know might work for you too.

Hey! Yeah I've been doing this every night. She does sleep when I go to bed after a play session and a meal. But then at 3 - 4am she's awake and prowling and that's the time we get awakened from deep sleep. It's hard to even think about what to do when kitty wakes you up from that. What do you usually do when that happens?

Yeah my 1yr log is currently going thru a phase where new wake time is 5:30am. Wake up is usually at 7am. So ATM when she does this I'm not playing with her, not feeding her and not getting up. All the things she waking me up for. It passes she's tried this before.
She did once wake me up at 4:00am. I responded with anger and I think I threatened to end her life.
Fortunately cats don't speak English but I'm pretty sure she got the message. She hasn't woke me up that early since.

It's normal for them to get up 3-4am. They are most active at dusk and dawn. He'll go play by himself.
My boy wakes up around that time too and asked to be let out of the room. He'll come back in at 5am and asked to be fed. Sometimes he comes back in at 4am and ask for food. I just tell him it's not time yet and it's too early. Few minutes he meowed again and just say to him, not now, let me sleep for awhile more and then I ignore him. He'll the run out of the room mumbling :lol3:

What thread would be complete without a visit from the PC Police.
Any mammal that wakes me at 4am takes their life into their own hands. Like I said they don't speak English so she doesn't know what I said. No of course I wouldn't hurt her but I don't think pretending not to get upset occasionally does anyone any good.

I like your honesty. I've woken up at 4am too telling my cat that I'll grill her on the stove tomorrow morning. Or that I'll turn her into a furry purse. Of course we won't be doing that and cats don't understand English. But I think a lot of people don't show their frustrated moments, which is a shame because that's part and parcel of owning a cat.

Ellie my cat used to wake me up but pretend it wasn't her. Something would wake me up, she be on the other end of the bed facing the other way. She then turn around like "oh hey, your awake".
I caught her one morning waking up me up the jumping to the other side of the bed. I had my eyes open just enough to watch her do this. Sneaky little $h&t.
