Not offended at all by your dog pics. I know the feeling, I want to post Sam and Spike pics all the time. When you have cats, dogs are as much as part of their lives as you are, so they just kindof blend together sometimes. How is he doing with your cats?

I want to say again how sorry I am about Nemo. You are a strong person with a huge heart and an obvious big gap to fill. It looks like Dakota is blending his way very well into your family.
I took Dakota to the vet yesterday and he said that Dakota is right at 4 months old and a little underweight but otherwise healthy. I will have this boy plumped up in no time.

Today I was out in the yard throwing the ball for Nakita and Dakota and in my mind's eye I could see Nemo bouncing through the yard after his favorite ball
Dakota has helped this pain some and he has eased the pain for Nakita for sure. She is now getting back to where she was when my angel died. Nakita even let me brush her today and that is something she has always fought tooth and nail about

Cathi, I'm glad to hear that Dakota is helping ease some of the pain. I know it's hard for you, but at the same time you are doing what is right for you and for Nakita. I'm happy they are both adjusting well

I know you are really busy but when you have time could you please post some more pictures of them?

I know it is hard to loose a baby and it will take a long time sometimes to heal the grieving heart . I also still grieve over my sweet Elisha . But that new baby will help healing your heart ((((((HUGS)))))) .

Today turned out to be a good day after all. Nemo always greeted me at the gate with his WoooooWooooo howl. That was his way of telling me that he was glad that I was home
Today little Dakota greeted me at the gate and did a mini verison of a WoooWooo howl to let me know that he was glad that I was home
It just made my day so much better.
Nakita and Dakota are fast becoming best buddies and that is what Ken and I were aiming for to ease her(and mine) pain of loosing Nemo.

Cathi, I'm so glad to hear that Dakota is settling in well, being accepted, and somehow knowing how to function in this particular family -- isn't it amazing how critters just *know* these things. You'll be a while healing, but Dakota, it seems, will be the salve on the wound. I can't think of a better scenario.

Congratulations to you for having the courage to bring a new critter into your lives for Nakita, even if it was perhaps before you'd have done it for yourself. You've done well. You have, indeed, done well!

Cathi, these pictures brought happy tears to my eyes
:flash:

I am so happy things are working out for all three dogs. They sure look happy together!

Dakota already looks like he has already grown quite a bit

Beautiful doggies - Thanks for the pictures!

Aww. There just so cute. Dakota looks like he is settling right in with your family. What do Oscar and the Sammycat think of a new puppy?

Just love doggie kisses

Oscar is scared of the bigger dogs,
he has been ever since my daughter's rottie tried to catch him when they were living here. Poor baby almost had a heartattack and so did I.

The Sammycat, well lets just say he can live with or without them
He has that attitude anyway. He does tolerate them with an occasional swat to a soft little nose
. That's my boy

WOW Nikita is gorgeous! She's a husky? I didn't know they come in that colour. I'm in love. Your baby looks like a husky too.

As for the pics, I'd be happy to see cat, dog, horse, or even people pictures.

There's no place like home
I love that 4 month old "all legs" look of Dakota! Mine are 4-1/2 months old right now and are all legs. They kind of bounce along, trip on things cause they don't know what to do with their legs yet. Kind of the 10 year old boy clumbsiness phase.....

That is sooooo cool that Nakita loves Dakota.

Would love more pictures please!

I's so glad that Nakita is happy now. Don't you just love that "Husky Grin"

Dakota isn't my boy Nemo
:,but he is worming his way right into my heart next to the place that is all Nemo's

Lynx, Nakita and Dakota are both Huskies. My boy Nemo was an Alaskan Malamute mixed with Lab, that is why his ears didn't stand up. They can come in a number of color combonations. My favorite is more of the black/silver like Dakota, but when I saw Nakita in the HS my heart just melted she was so pretty.
