I accidentally sprayed my cat with flea spray for a dog a very large dog it contained Permethrin 36.8 %. it was mixed a quarter of a teaspoon too 8 ounces of in a spray bottle approximately 4 hours ago.as soon as I realized it was the dog spray which was immediate I gave her a bath in Palmolive dish soap.I called my vet he's not responding I called the emergency hospital they're not responding. she is having mild what I would call tremors with rapid eye blinking. I wrapped her in a blanket and I'm keeping her warm and she has calmed down some is there anything I can do at home to help her until morning. the nearest emergency hospital is 4 hours away

Sorry just get back. ER vet won't see her without some ridiculous amount of money up front which I won't have until tomorrow morning. I just held her through another small seizure when she came out of it little disoriented hissed at me. then she meowed at me like normal started purring and it's sitting here like there's absolutely nothing wrong even tried to eat and drink Am i just waiting for the next shoe to drop? I was instructed by the ER people to bathe her over again till morning again and again. keep her warm and get her to my vet in the morning since I couldn't meet with them tonight. does anyone else have any other suggestions? thank you for your help

I wouldn't wait this out of you have ANY way to get the money now and get her there. This is too serious to wait until morning, she may not make it.

Call the pet poison helpline and see what they can recommend, as this is basically poisoning. They charge you a fee, but if you absolutely can't get her to a vet they might suggest something else to help get her through the night.

I know I really do. I live in a very small farming community there is nothing around for miles. No way to get it tonight. I tried everything I know I can only ask for prayer for us till morn..my boss will help me can't reach him till then or my vet if he calls back. She seams fine now although I know it can go bad any sec.

Hoping for the best  Try and keep her hydrated if you can. Tuna water if she doesn't want to drink on her own.

She drink a good bit of water and ate some wet cat food,,,afraid to give her too much in case she has another seizure. I wouldn't know what to do if she choked or aspirated on the food or water. Thank you will post out come as I can.

If you have a syringe or a dropper you could give her tuna water or whatever she will drink.  That way you can supervise all her intake.  Don't leave out any food or water so you don't have to worry about her choking, but keep hydrating her.  I hope she will be ok.  Hopefully the poison control line can help you.

Yes big thing is hydrate, bathes, dry, keep warm, confined space so she won't hurt herself should she have a full blown seizure again. they said tremors are normal for this type of poisoning get her to vet first thing in the morning.

Update she didn't have any more full-blown seizure during the night just some very small tremors, ate drank but did pee her bed. She is up walking around, grooming eating drinking and using the litterbox. NO trembling or an other sign of poisoning. Vet office called this morn Dr was out on er last night and will be in around 2 asked me how she was and asked for update. We go in at 2 when he gets in. Thank you for all your help.
