now I'm not knocking purina- my cats love their beyond chicken and oat- and they downed their chicken egg grain free. but buyer beware on their grain free versions!
very shortly after feeding their grain free food all developed itching one vomited and one - maybe the same one- got sores on his mouth. one has a hot spot on his coat. but the baby with the sores kept me up at night. Racking my brain because I changed food litter and one of my fur babies had recently had a bout with the herpesvirus-- I read a comment about grain free version last night and was finally put at ease.
I called purina and told them about my episode in not sure if the other lady did or not. but they need to know that this ingredient is having ill effect.
tapioca powder or cassava root powdrr.
wysong has an article on the tapioca powder additive effects and includes stomatoglassitis
and vomiting included there http://www.wysong.net/TapiocainPetFood.
my husband wasn't convinced it was eispnophilic granuloma but being an allergy it probably is eisonophils. I wasn't convinced steroids with antibiotics were my first line of defense so I'm treating him with advice from a wholistic vet first. slight improvement from yesterday.
