Hi there, i have posted a couple of times about my cat coughing and panting on occasion. My cat pepe seems to have an allergy. I have taken her to the vet twice now about a cough. She has only done this a few times in 9 months. But i have seen her pant a few times also. Mostly after play, but today for no reason in our garden. I hear this is a bad sign. Cats shouldn't pant. Otherwise she is very healthy, always hungry, runs around all the time. My vet said she seems healthy, and didn't need an x ray. She thought it could be an allergy. She heard slight whistling through her nose, but chest sounded good. She says i worry too much. I'm not sure though. She has about 25 cats, so she should know a thing or two, but a panting cat is a cat that can't breathe. Her brother smokey also coughed the other day.It is spring and very windy. They have both started sneezing and scratching. So hayfever or asthma maybe?

It could also be a hairball or a non-allergic environmental irritant.  Humans too occasionally cough without being sick.  I would trut your vet but if the symptoms worsen then take another professional look.
