Hi all, so on Wednesday morning we adopted a 2 month old kitten from the humane society. He's is a bundle of energy and super sweet. He's adjusting nicely to living here eating, drinking and playing. He pooped on his first night here which was Wednesday but I don't think he has since then. He is peeing but not had a poop since Wednesday. How long do I wait before i take him to the vet. Any tips on how to get him to poop?

Drinking, eating and exercising are great for going to the loo, unfortunately this little one has been through a stressful change.

You are giving him the same food that they gave him at the humane society? I expect you know if you change a kitten's diet you need to do it very slowly otherwise it could upset it's stomach.

You would have mentioned it if he was spending a lot of time in the litter box straining.

Canned pumpkin is good for constipation if he will eat it.  It has to be plain pumpkin though, no sugar, spices or other additives and of course encourage him to drink maybe by putting a bit of water in his cat food if it's wet?

Otherwise, I'd just watch him.
