I'm out of town for the holidays and I brought my cat with me. A few hours ago the cat accidentally scratched my cousins dog because she got scared and my cousin grabbed the cat by the arm and swung her across the room I heard a crack and ran to grab the cat. I got really mad and now I'm with the cat. I noticed she fell off the bed and I picked her up and she screamed and I put her on the ground and she can't walk and I'm trying to massage her arm but she keeps screaming. It also feels swollen. Please what can I do to help her, I can't take her to the vet because I'm in a very rural area and it's late. I'm here until Sunday but I don't want to see the cat in pain until then.

You have to somehow take your cat to an Emergency VEt.. Your cat is in Pain.. There is nothing you can do to alleviate it.. She needs Emergency Medical Care... Your Cousin should help you find an Emergency Vet; they are at fault...

The poor cat... Yes, it is late, but Emergency Vets are open 24 hours for emergencies...

Would you let your own child sit for 2 days with a broken arm and not do anything for it?? Same situation...

sorry for sounding harsh, but this is an emergency..

You must get your cat to a vet immediately. This cannot wait.

Please also considering leaving your cat at home when you travel. Cats are stressed from change and travel, and your family cannot be trusted with your cat. I remember her being fed inappropriately by your mother, and by exposing her to your cousin she was just subjected to serious abuse. She must be kept in a situaiton where you can keep her safe and healthy.

And please be so careful traveling with her if she is not spayed....

I agree with ArtieMom, your cousin is responsible for this. I absolutely cannot believe s/he did that, it's horrific. I also agree with the above posts that your cat needs vet care right away. That being said, if you absolutely cannot bring your cat to a vet until tomorrow morning, you could possibly fashion a split out of popsicle sticks & self adherent medical tape that only sticks to itself, but would only be for minimal temporary hold until the morning.

How are things today? Did you find a vet?

She seems fine now today thank you. She's been playing and eating normally. She has also been walking better. I did and she has to go tomorrow

Glad she seems ok but also that you are still going to have her checked. Are you able leave her at home next time you travel?

Yes most likely. My family doesn't seem to be a fan of her. Also, in the mean time I tried wrapping her arm in a cloth but some how she took it off.

Please do. It's up to you to protect her.

Also, it's very likely that she will get out and get pregnant if you keep traveling with her. Maybe you can talk to the vet about spaying when you take her in.
