So last night my little Gracie started her first heat cycle.  It took me by total surprise since she just turned 4 months old. I was going to get her spayed in a few weeks because I did not think she would go into heat this early.  She is showing all the normal signs:
  • Increased affection.
  • Commando crawling.
  • Loud meowing and trilling.
  • Rolling around.
  • Rear end raised.
One thing is bothering me though.  I clean her litter box several times a day, so I know her output pretty well.  The past few days she has peed a lot.  Probably 7 or more time a day.  However, since this started last night she has not peed in her litter box once.  It has been close to 15 hours since she has last peed.  Is this something to be concerned about?  This is my first time owning a cat so I am very new to all of this.

Thank you all for any help you can give. :)

A cat can get pregnant at 4 months. Get her fixed ASAP since her cycles will drive you nuts! Plus it's bad for her health to cycle in and out.

If there are Tom cats outside expect them to congregate now as they can sense a female in heat is in your house.

With regard to the pee, just hope she is not peeing elsewhere.

Well, unfortunately, your last sentence was what was happening.  She has used her litter box multiple time since my original post, but my girlfriend actually caught her peeing in one of the closets.  We then went through everything in the closet and she had peed on multiple items.  So, that's being cleaned and she is no longer allowed in there.

Yes, females in heat will pee in various places to try to attract the boys :/. Usually their first heat is short so ask your vet when she can get in to be spayed. It's not really something you want to deal with much longer! :lol3:

Yeah, she started Thursday night and by Sunday morning she was back to normal.  Kind of miss having her snuggle up with me non-stop and wanting her belly rubbed without attacking me.
She has an appointment tomorrow morning to be spayed.  My poor baby girl.  Hopefully she does not hold this against me. Lol.

She's not a "poor baby girl"! Trust me, no female wants to be pregnant 3 times a year!

I was talking more along the lines of her having to "go under the knife".  I know this is what is best for her, so I am glad to be getting it done.
