Small Fry is doing very well. She really wants to explore. Still very soft stool so I got some diet food from the vet to see if we can 'clog' her up a bit.

Here she is during a free run. Until the diarrhoea has passed she's only allowed out under supervision

Found a spot of blood today. Also some on top of some stool. I think her anus is just so irritated from all the diarrhoea but if I notice a change in her behaviour or more blood I'll call the vet again.

And with that you keep busy day by day haha

Talked to the vet today because her poop was still so soft and they prescribed some antibiotics but it needs to improve now or else we gotta go back in.

She's still doing very well, gets out for a play and is not too happy about being put back in her cage. I promised her once her diarrhoea was gone she was going to be allowed out during the day.

I'll post some photo updates soon

Usually gotta check the stool for worms even after deworming. Also if you changed her food she'll have diarrhea. Also could be food allergy. My cat can't have beef or he has diarrhea and blood. Feed high quality wet food such as Ziwipeak or instinct in my opinion :)

Her stool was still soft today but no leaking in her cage. She's getting a clean blanket tonight which is light coloured so I can see how she 'leaks' during the night.

I'll be sure to get some pictures up tomorrow. I think she's got bit bigger

We went back to the vet today and she looks very good. Her bum is a bit sore and her belly is still a bit hard. We got Finidiar and have to give the antibiotics as well.
When I first went in she weighed 1,5 kg and today her weight was 1,94 kg so she's definately growing.
I still need to make new pictures but got the stomach bug (and my entire family too). Within 3 days we all got it...bleh

A long overdue update on Smallfry. She 's had consistent diarrhoea over the past weeks, but she was happy.

Then she went downhill over the last week. Still her happy self but lost her appetite, then she started throwing up and the diarrhoea got worse, slimy yellow to watery.

I got some very expensive hypo allergenic food and she just couldn't eat it. If she did, she threw it back up again(in her litter box, the tidy little thing). I also got some probiotic paste and started that on Friday, but she just kept throwing up and having yucky poo.

'twas the night before Christmas and I conferred with my husband and co-caretaker and we decided to give her a Metronidazol based AB, while also continuing the paste and switched her to wet food with warm water for the time being. She had one pill over two days(a quarter, twice a day). Yesterday I had noticed her poo was darker but this evening she actually had a proper poo in her box. Dark brown and well formed.

How happy can someone be with a turd huh?

We're continuing the paste but stopping the AB for now, to see what happens. And she's on wet food at the moment.

Is there any chance a cat could be allergic to dry food??

If the antibiotic was working and you take her off it too soon you might create an antibiotic resistant protezoa which will be very hard to get rid of later on.

I'm also consulting the vet about this course of action.

However she already had this AB before for 10 days and it didn't really do anything then. The pills I had were left over from the last batch. It could be a mix of both. The AB killing the bad bacteria in the intestines and the probiotic paste filling up the good bacteria? Or that's how we figured. Something like that.

You're not the only one to rejoice over proper poop in the litter box, believe me.

I'm glad she's feeling better again, poor little thing.

It's been a while since I updated.

It looks like Small Fry is allergic to rice, chicken and all dry foods. We've been feeding her barf together with canned food to keep it interesting as she's also a picky eater. Her stool has completely firmed up and she looks great!

Notice how her nose is now white. First pictures they had these black spots.

Oh haha, 'barf' stands for 'biologically approved raw food'. Deep frozen sausages with only one animal protein, bones and stuff.

Thank you for clearing that up. I thought predictive text had done a number on your post when I first read it.

Such a sweet little thing and she is looking so much better. What was wrong with her nose? Was that feline acne or just dirt? One of mine throws up all dry food as well, she can only tolerate the more expensive brands of canned. (Well, that's what she tells me, anyway.)

I'm glad you've found a food that agrees with her.

Is she still called Small Fry? It suits her!

She is still called Small Fry and probably will for the remainder of her life. It's just so fitting. It's the same with Mankepoot(means lame leg). It just fits(and sits
)

She has been throwing up unfortunately but I think it has to do with a new canned food. It has tapioca starch added to it and I think that might be the trigger. Because she was fine up until we started feeding this food

Some cats throw up because their bowls are on the floor. Some cats prefer their bowls to be in a raised feeder.

It's been a while but we found out what was wrong with her. She has Giardia, she's been on a de-wormer and metronazol, but beginning of the week she'd turned jaundice....she's off any medication now to give her liver some rest but I'm very worried the parasite is still in there...bringing in poop later in the week and hope it's dead.
She been in solitary for a few weeks and I really want to put her back with her friends
