Hello , over the last 2 months my 2 years old maine coon male has had this problem twice. (With EXACTLY two months apart , even hours, apporx midnight). Me and my gf wake up in the middle of the night hearing some weird scratching noises, my cat was more-or-less flat on his belly doing weird swim-like motions. Head a little bent, alot of sniffing and biting everything he can find in his path. (Video attached later). We went to the vet after a few hours and it was gone...we did an xray and some other tests but everything seemed fine, she suspected epillepsy...now after 2 months again, we went to another vet immediately and was suspected a (benzene?) Poisoning or (meningities, but unlikely because no temperature) . Got some injections and put him to sleep. After sleeping hes pretty much normal now (happened 2 days ago), eats like crazy and goes to thr toilet normally again...very strange. Maybe someone has some input on this matter and maybe experienced something similar. We had a rosemary plant (and basilic) which he threw down in the night he had the seizure, maybe he ate some, but no signs of that. Of course we threw the plants away and everything with smell (had some candles with smell too) Thanks for reading. I will try to attach videos.

Is he declawed? Because it looks like he is SLIPPING on the shiny floors.

You got some injections to put him to sleep? Huh?

Are you wishing he didn't bite? You should never put your hands near him like that because obviously he will bite.

Hello Primula,

no he is not declawed, he runs just normal on the same floor today (although its a bit slippery). The video is before the visit to the vet two days ago. Usually he never bites but there clearly was something wrong with him, we just wanted to calm him down a bit, his pupils were dilated and reactions were delayed....after this we drove to the vet and he gave him a sleeping injection.

What the heck is a sleeping injection?

Looks like he loses control of the muscles in his back legs. That can't be right. Can you see a different vet?

Sorry, the vet said it was something like valium (dont know the scientific name) and a vitamin injection because he thought it was a poisoning with some type of convulsant poison. We will see a different vet (the third one then..) but everything is normal  at the moment.
