Hi there all feline buddies
I recently adopted a male kitten he is adorable, he is a red one I think, and I want to name him Sol after the Sun in Latin
Is Sol a good name for my new feline friend?
I heard the -ee sound is quite a choice and cats have a good response but does Sol as a name sound good or not, is it interesting and meaningful? Will my kitten soon to be cat respond to it well and love it?

Sol is good good name. Short and clear. He will soon know it is his name and answer to it. Any photos?

Soleil, the French word for sun is better IMO. You would have the soft vowel sound at the end as it's pronounced SO-LAY.

So Sol has not the distinguished sound by its own you mean?
With Soleil you get the special frequency in the end
that reaches out to cats interest
Is it truly necessary to have the soft vowel sound?
Will Sol not suffice with proper training?

It's entirely up to you what you call your cat!

Cats prefer a name with at least 2 syllables that ends with a soft vowel sound. That's all I know.

I think Sol is a fine name, although understand what @Primula  means about the  second syllable.  I've found, however, that many cats will only answer to their names when they feel like it, no matter what it is.  I had a highly intelligent cat named Wesley who lived to be 19 and never, not once, acknowledged his name.  Now I have a cat who was already named Paul when I adopted him, and he does acknowledge it.  In other words, in my experience, it depends on the cat.  Sol is a good name so call him that and see what happens.

I think naming your ginger boy after something sun-like is a lovely idea!  Sol is great, the French version is good too.  I love Sanskrit and my cats tend to have Sanskrit names.. so that would be Surya (soo-r-ya).

Even Sunny is good.

It needs to be something you really like, and if Sol came to you and you like it, then go with it.
